I thought it was 2 year side he came back but I could easily be wrong. I was looking to see what velo he had. Two years back from TJS is easily not enough time

This is a likely a nothing move. We play the waiver game frequently
Also, he had a 5.26 ERA in college. He just doesn't have a good history at all.

He was a top 30 prospect. I wonder why

I get the feeling they are going to get to the 2023 season and along about May, realize the bullpen is awful. Then they will short circuit 2 or 3 starting pitchers development by bringing them up and putting them in the pen. Evan even suggests they could do that with Kent.

Hope they wake before then and find some relievers and a closer and leave developing pitchers alone.

Evan's terrible take in why the Rangers are interested in the Boston catcher who was DFA.

"The Rangers need to fill a roster spot for injured Nick Solak, who will be placed on the IL on Tuesday with a season-ending fracture in his right foot. The only options on the current 40-man roster were infielder Andy Ibáñez and catcher Meibrys Viloria, who was in an 0 for 30 skid when he was sent down."
"Plawecki likely wouldn’t play much behind Jonah Heim and Sam Huff over the last two weeks of the season, but it would give the Rangers the ability to get a feel for him. Plawecki, who has spent time with the New York Mets, Cleveland and Boston, was seen as a clubhouse leader in Boston. After he was DFA’d it was reported that Red Sox players stayed and toasted him in the clubhouse late into the evening on Friday."

I don’t want to see Santana or King here next year. Not spending on the bullpen would be stupid. They don’t need anymore veteran retread outfielders. Bubba, Leody and Garcia should start the year in the outfield.

I heard he is a FA. We really don’t need him and short sell us and even Huff. Also keeping him puts Garver on 1B and bet Huff In AAA
This guy won’t be a minor leaguer I think

If they wanted a leader at the catcher position then they should have kept Trevino.
