Taillon is another you get maybe 5 innings guy
Wacha has had some off and on success
Not really alot of decent FAs to choose from I'm guessing they'll trade for at least 1 decent SP to help make the 40 man decisions easier
Other than 3 bad outings that drove up his ERA Santana wasn't too bad
Hearn did drop his ERA a full run after he went to the pen full time so
Hernandez/LeClerc both coming back from TJS and throwing way too many pitches per inning
Garver never really wanted him in the 1st place too many injuries, hope he has a decent stretch right before trade deadline so someone will want him.
Mathias is all about his bat if he can sustain it, hasn't in the past.
Conforto/Miller is about they don't trust Taveras/Thompson/White yet

I doubt that is a scenario. He has no contract needing to eat like Matt H

He does have a big bag of nothing that someone would have to eat.

I really doubt that but if he does make a start this year it won’t matter since our pitching staff is depleted and Ragans is about to be shut down.

Part of the issue is we just don’t have the options we thought. We counted on Winn without a legitimate backup option

Hence the stupidity in being stubborn about not allowing Burke or Allard to make a big league start.

Yes he was. If we had pitchers in the rotation, besides Perez, that could pitch more than 5 innings we would not require so much from the pen. Our starters are same as long relievers.

He shouldn’t be. But you have to question them after picking up the Minnesota pitcher and thinking about grabbing Palewcki.

don't understand this kind logic. why will we waste roster spots on either one of them? we are going to have to clear rosters spots just cover our Rule 5-eligible prospects and sign some FA's

Look at it this way. We all hated trading for him when we did, and he has only further justified our angst toward the trade since. What team would trade for him and tie up a spot on the 40 man?

If I was a GM and had a chance to pick him up and have him not cost me a roster spot, I might do it just to see what he can do coming out of the bullpen at AAA. I couldn't be tempted to trade for him though.

He is just making a living. I don't think he is right, but he is just tossing out an opinion because that is his job. At least it gave us something else to talk about. Lol

and that will be repeated if we don't add better relievers and create a designate role instead of the musical chairs thing we have now. we are one of the few teams in the mlb that doesn't have a bullpen setup

Other than Burke, Hearn and possibly Santana, I believe we will see some new faces in the pen. Relievers move around like Dallas traffic.
