Up until the game against Toronto, Frasor had been pitching relatively well, when given a chance

He's given up 8 runs all year, 4 of them have come in 2 games, 2 in Toronto and 2 in the 2nd game of the year

Don't think there was an opportunity tonight for Frasor unless Wash had left Grimm in to finish the 6th. In which case Frasor would have been wasted on what would have remained. With the way it lined up in the 7th and 8th ... Wells and Nix were the only two RH batters.

BTW Ichiro v Frasor: .636 .636 .909 1.545 in 11ABs

Just making a point about running cotts, Ross, and Frasor into the ground.

Wasn't advocating bringing him in, just saying to say he's been bad is a bit of an overstatement

Oh I agree with you. He's done well in the situations he's been used in. But they have for the most part been situations where he had a good chance of success. And did.

There were others bemoaning the fact that he was not used tonight and that he needed to take more of the higher leverage work "or else". Like there is a good "or else". Also ... moaning that SPs need to go deeper in games ............ although usually same posters would be the first to complain if Wash left Grimm in to finish the 6th. Ironically ... Frasor wouldn't get any mop up work after that disaster happened either.

Think you mean Cotts, Ross, Scheppers ... and Nathan.

Over the last week only Holland and Perez made it through 6IP and they both went 7. The other four SPs (Lindblom, Tepesch, Darvish and Grimm) didn't get to the 6th. But TEX won all but one of those games so TEX was still in a position to win which is what TEX asks of its SPs.

Yes -- the back of the BP needs a break but I still contend its the offense that continues to put the pitchers (both SP and RP) into high leverage situations. TEX needs to put up more runs in order to get Frasor and McClellan into the games along with giving Wolf some opportunity to work. Realistically until they do ... only Frasor stands a shot at getting an appearance.

technically some of those guys MADE it to the 6th, they just didn't FINISH the 6th Darvish and Grimm the last 2 nights come immediately to mind

Yes... you are right. I think they all were pitching in the 6th but none got through it. At least they all got through 5 though. (Lindblom 5.0, Tepesch 5.2, Darvish 5.1, Grimm 5.0)

Really thought Grimm would get through the wall tonight.

I like the fact that (other than Darvish) Wash seems to have a quicker hook the last week or so.

been a while....... terrible base running by murphy. for ss experienced as murph is, he makes a lot of dumb base running mistakes. the other one that comes to mind recently was his mishap in toronto while on 2nd base in extra innings when he got to far off the bag. your veterans cant continue to make these mistakes. especially if you arent hitting (at the moment)

He's not as consistently bad as some, like Andrus, but this one was really inexcusable
