I really wish someone would explain the rules of bringing up past history to us. I have heard too often the past doesn't count.
If you bring up 5 Super Bowls you're digging up the past. If you pull up 5 meaningless regular season games, you're adding valuable insight

I won't say Romo gives Dallas a better chance to win, but I would love to see what Romo could do with play-action having Elliott in the backfield. And obviously, Romo and Dez have a much better chemistry. Although Dak to Dez has been improving, Dak is still only completing about 52% of his targets to Dez. In years past with Romo at QB, Dez usually hauls in better than 60% of his targets.

Not to mention that Romo & Dez have the Cowboys TD record.

That record highlights the real value of Dez. Dak can throw to Cole all he wants going down field. But when he gets to the 20, that's where I want Dez to be his go to guy. Once you set up that connection, defenses try to adapt and then you can exploit it.

From the time Dez came into the league in 2010 through 2014, prior to injuring himself in 2015, Dez had the most TDs in the entire NFL with 56. Prior to both players getting injured in 2015, Romo to Dez was the best red zone tandem in football - bar none.

Another big thing for the Cowboys. We can't miss tackles on those slants and allow GB to turn 6 yard plays into huge plays like the one to OBJ the last time we played the GMen. I hope we play a lot of man and bump and run. Don't let these guys break open right off the snap and make it easy on Rodgers to pick us apart

Without Jordy Nelson, does Green Bay have any WR with that kind of speed? Adams and Cobb are great and all, but I don't associate them with game breaking speed like an Odell Beckham has.

???
Cobb is way more likely to break a slant for a big gain than Jordy

And don't underestimate the value of getting to practice all week with focus on Davonte and Cobb, as opposed to the Giants who prepared all week to defend Jordy and those guys....I think it will help slow them down in a big way

I just see this game as a "limited possession" game for the GB offense, and that's where Dallas will win it.....With all Rodgers' greatness, at some point, he could feel the pressure of having to score on every drive

Exactly and that is what Dallas has to do. IMO GB is going to try to load up to stop the run. First off, Dallas is built to run on you anyway when you do that and hopefully can - I think they will if T Smith is healthy. Secondly Dak needs to play well. If either of those happen Dallas should have a lot of long drives and give Rodgers less chances (if both happen, they will for sure). I expect Rodgers to play very well and complete over 70% of his passes and thus score some points. The key is to give him less chances. Part of this is not giving the ball back at the end of the half or the game. Run out the clock. So, if we get the ball with 3 minutes left in the half and give him the ball back with 1 and 1/2 he's probably putting points up.

I know what he said, but 2010 and 2011 shouldn't be included (I don't even think Dez started every game in 2010). 2012-2014 was their time period where they clicked in the red zone. I'm not looking up if they led the league or not or even saying they were the best combo for those years, but they were a dominant combo from 2012-2014.

Cobb is quicker than Nelson for sure, but I don't think he has the long speed to run away from defenses like Beckham (or Nelson) does. Could be wrong, I don't watch him a ton.

Good catch. My post was part fact, part opinion. Although, I can see how it could come off as me presenting it as fact.

Romo to Dez being the best was an opinion, not supported by results. Still, as Jarntt posted, 2013-2014 Romo and Dez were literally unstoppable in the red zone.

You can't use facts and stats to debate a cowboys fan.

lump um all in.
I know I do aggies

The typical cowboys fan has completely unrealistic view of the cowboys performance. There are exceptions, but for the most part do not look objectively at their team.

This is just an example.

Proclaiming that Dez/Romo was the greatest redzone threat from 2010-2015, being proven wrong, and then saying "well, that was just an opinion". That is the typical cowboys fan. Talk shit without anything to back it up.

Dallas did go 13-3 this year and it's a great season. You deserve to have bragging rights. However, many cowboy fans think there is nothing that can stop them from winning the SB this year.
