Mets RHP Trevor May was placed on the 15-day injured list with right triceps inflammation. RHP Adonis Medina was recalled from Triple-A. RHP Yoan López has appealed his three-game suspension from Major League Baseball for throwing several pitches inside during the ninth inning against Philadelphia on Sunday after a teammate was plunked.

He got the 1st out...but then an out call was challenged/overturned to a single...then 2 more singles followed.
Bases loaded....1 out....Buck goes to the BP for Adam Ottavino.....he'll face d'Arnaud.....

He walks in a run....still loaded/1 out

Good thing we took both games yesterday.
Worst case now is we split these 4 games 2-2...which is looking more likely, especially with the Mets lumber so far in a slumber today.

Ottavino wasn't a good choice today.

We got a little help from Arizona as they went on to beat Miami 8-7 just a bit ago.
Also wouldn't mind it if Texas beats Philly again later.

Props to Trevor Williams for taking one for the team today in an extended role (3.2 innings) of mop up duty.
It wasn't pretty by any stretch, but it was effective in giving the other guys (not named Ottavino) in the BP some much needed rest.

And still after today's loss.....the Mets are 7-0-1 in their 8 series this season.
Not they hit the road for 4 in Phiily and then 3 in Wash.

Sucks to lose in that fashion but splitting a series against a good team (despite their slow start) is solid.

Bullpen continues to be a giant problem. Every game it's a different guy making us sweat.

Yeah..it's to be expected. They're still ironing out some kinks.
But for the most part they've gotten the job done...and mostly because the offense has been giving them some cushion.
Wasn't the case today. Turn the page...onto the next.
Hope they step it up this weekend at that bandbox down I-95.

Lindor's error yesterday in the 5th inning changed the complexion of the game in that it meant Megill had to make far more pitches than he should have..and that carried over into the 6th ...and it has now reared it's ugly head again right out of the gate today.
Walker's leadoff BB in the 1st notwithstanding.
As a result..it's already 3-0....still only 1 out, with 2 on.
Walker looks bewildered.

Edit...another single makes it's 4-0.
