I don't think there is a more nervewrecking moment in sports than a PK in a big moment

Not surprised he missed....Surprise he didn't put it on target

In a situation like that, you might be best having another player take that kick.

These 2 know each other too well

Kane is their guy though.

Another player takes the kick and misses?

Coach wouldn’t be able to live with the decision.

Easy to ride or die with Kane.

No other sport quite like soccer.

Where 1 team can completely dominate the action and still lose.

God damn. Rashford nearly tied it at the end. Froze the keeper but slightly high.

Really wanted england to win it

I don’t know that “completely dominate applies”. France got an early goal and they were able to play defense first and counter soccer. England never got enough balls through in dangerous places and they never finished. All they had all day came on penalties.

Not sure what form he’s in but in the past Trippier has been a revelation for them in getting balls in to dangerous places. England lacked that in this tournament. I would have given him some run for Walker at the 60th minute or so.

Nah England was clearly the better team. One team made most of their opportunities and the others didnt.

What you cite is a big piece of what determines who is the better team haha. France played their style of game with an early lead. That’s going to look like England “dominated” because they have more time on the ball. What do you remember that looked dangerous? I remember a spin by Kane and Lloris attacked him for the save and then a wicked deflected ball that changed direction and Lloris saved. Outside of those two chances what else did they get that was dangerous?

They had the ball. They got the ball to dangerous places time and again.

They only couldn’t finish.

France had few quality chances. They just happened to convert on the ones they got.

We sit around and argue whether this player or that position group is the problem. Here's the thing, that all comes back on the head coach. The buck stops with McDaniels. It's his job to make sure all the pieces fit together. On Thursday night we watched an ugly, sloppy game of football. That's ultimately on the coach.
