But Paddy the Baddy said it wasn't close. lol
I thought it was close. Paddy won round 2 imo but he lost round 1 and it could have easily gone the other day. Neither dominated and overall a pretty unimpressive fight. Really the co-main and main event were underwhelming imo

We sit around and argue whether this player or that position group is the problem. Here's the thing, that all comes back on the head coach. The buck stops with McDaniels. It's his job to make sure all the pieces fit together. On Thursday night we watched an ugly, sloppy game of football. That's ultimately on the coach.
"All comes back on the HC"? Sure...to Blame the Coach Guy.

I'm sure some or even a good bit falls on McD. But those players matter some.

Agree. I like Paddy the Baddy, but yeah, that fight was real close and didn't have the action I expected. There was always the chance that Blachowitz vs. vs. Magomed could be boring.

Hilarious that one ended in a split draw...still no light heavyweight champ. lol

I turned it off at the end of round 5. Didn’t see the decision but assumed Magomed won…it was a split? Wow

Yes and no.

When talking about "pieces that fit/talent" much of that falls on the GM. End of the day, the coach has to try to make what he's given work.

Where McDaniels gets blame is with scheme, how he uses the pieces he's given and his game management (like the going conservative with 39 running plays to 20 passes you mentioned earlier) is on the coach.

But ill fitting pieces are ill fitting pieces and no matter what the coach does, there will always be limits to what they can do. It's like the Lakers with Westbrook...Ham has pounded that square peg into the round hole about as far as it can go. Because of that, the Lakers are better than last year, but not the contenders they could be if they had a couple of better fits.

For McBirdShit, this is likely to be his 2nd time failing. Some guys are just great coordinators and position coaches but can’t hang as head coaches. I think that’s who Boy Blunder is. Not talking the whole season, but Thursday night was 4/5ths McBirdShit. He called off the dogs at halftime and just assumed they could coast to a win.

Davis got McDaniels cheaper than Harbaugh....that is what it ultimately came down to IMO.

Yep, that step up from Coordinator to Head Coach is a big one. A while back, I read somewhere that most who take that step fail.

I watched prelims but wasn't feeling paying for that one.

Glad I didn't

The Adesanya card last month was fantastic.
