I agree. Going on year 3 and we haven't seen him. I get some of that is bad luck but this isn't going in the right direction. San Fran still seems to have an elite defense and pieces around him though for it to be a great success now we just have to see him on the field. I loved the CMac trade. Not saying Lance will work out but I have no problem giving up draft capital for a developmental player in the right scenario. It’s a big payoff position if you’re right. They have a talented roster and were seeking one last piece. The developmental player is less likely to earn a big second deal in time for that to happen. It comes down to what they do with it and the quality of the evaluation in projecting where his talents can take him with solid development and coaching.
On not going the right direction: the plan was to have him sit and watch in year 1. That was gonna happen and then dude gets hurt early in his first season of action. That’s the bad luck but it’s also football. Can’t recall the circumstances of his injury (in pocket or out of pocket) but either way, when you select a QB prospect with high value on that mobility and how it can create fits for defense part of your calculus has to include at least one lost year to injury. It’s the nature of that beast.I agree. Going on year 3 and we haven't seen him. I get some of that is bad luck but this isn't going in the right direction. Yep! Of course I’m looking at things from perspective of the Eagles and their potential opponents and Niners with healthy Jimmy G could have been Eagles kryptonite. Great D that is good against the run and has elite athletic edge personnel which is built to stop that X factor Hurts brings to offense. They also have a skill group that can create match up issues. I feel much better with the Eagles walking into that situation vs Brock Purdy than Mayfield. Say what you want but Mayfield has starting experience in the league and has played playoff games as well. I read that Niners didn’t even put in a claim for him. Not sure if that’s because they didn’t want to bring him in or if they just assumed that being 23rd or 24th in waiver order it was a why bother situation49ers have all the pieces. Baker would probably be a good option for them as a backfill if Lance gets hurt or doesn't perform.
He's shown he can be a game manager in that kind of O
Kinda reminds me of the Jets' situation. Solid team, except at the most vital position...49ers have all the pieces. Baker would probably be a good option for them as a backfill if Lance gets hurt or doesn't perform.

I'm being fecitious of course but he looked really bad early. So did Fields but the competition Fields faced in college as to Lance is night and day. That was my issue on Lance.
Considering they gave up 3 1st's for a guy that was projected to be a project is really the head scratcher here. Whether he develops or not...who really knows, it isn't looking good but he needs to stay healthy and get a couple years consistently playing in this system and learning before he can really have a chance
Aren't elite level QB's supposed to make those around them better? Carr's put up some decent numbers during his nine year career. But not much to show for it. Only two winning seasons and one playoff trip. And a 62-77 record.
The Chargers are disappointing this season. What were the Rams picked to do preseason? I think injuries have kinda kicked their ass this season.

I guess I'm glad my team doesn't have this wrapped upTo be fair, Herbert has had far more talent around him than Carr has.
Seems like every season the Chargers are said to be a playoff/SB contender.
Can't really say that about the Raiders.
I don't think there's a more disappointing team in the NFL than the Chargers.
and while the other 3 were terrible the Jet loss on another level.Bro the Browns losing to the Jets, Chargers, Ravens and Falcons like they did about caused me to have a stroke
Hard to call a guy a bust who got hurt in year 2. But not a good start.......for sure as mentioned seems like keeping the picks and taking Fields a better way to go.Lance is a bust. That was such a risky pick and really dumb the capital they gave up
while I do not like our owner and their model (cheap) I cannot blame them for not getting involved in megadeals like this as more often than not those signing are a regret half way into them (or sooner......especially if it's a pitcher). It will be fun to see what these teams think about these deals in 5 years. 11, 9, and 11 years for those 3 guys. Are the Padres going to ante up with a an even bigger deal to keep Soto in the coming years?

Injuries have been a bitch, lol. That and losing a LT to retirement, their OLB/DE to Buffalo and Odell to an injury. All known as the season started of course with time to adjust. McVay has confused a lot of Rams fans with the guys he lets go and the underperformers he keeps, but that's another topic altogether lol.
