Nobody else was gonna offer him a fully guaranteed deal with that off the field nonsense surrounding him. That is why he agreed to be traded there when they were never a serious contender for his services.

I bet not many thought that almost half the league would give up valuable assets for him too and that happened. Some actually offered more valuable assets than CLE. I bet other teams were willing to give up more than the 3 1st’s but bc the Browns said we will give you $250M guaranteed he told management he wanted to play for CLE. Of course that’s what put them at the top and it was honestly a brilliant move by CLE. If you want a potential franchise QB you better do everything in your power to get that guy. 75-80% of the league (maybe more) doesn’t have a franchise QB and without one your chances go down dramatically.

Mostly agree.....though I'd bet another team would have given him what the browns did or come damn close. But we'll never know.
