Considering that from what has been reported, the other owners weren't at all happy about that and that the NFL doesn't do fully guaranteed contracts and that much better quarterbacks with much more impressive resumes than DeShaun Watsons have never been offered a fully guaranteed contract...I'd say it's a pretty solid bet.

Nobody else was gonna offer him a fully guaranteed deal with that off the field nonsense surrounding him. That is why he agreed to be traded there when they were never a serious contender for his services.

If they were "never a serious contender" they never would have gotten a meeting with him (as some didn't who wanted one).

Never heard he "almost committed to anyone" that was factual , but even if he did the Browns were among the only teams able to get a meeting with him so they were a serious contender. Hell, you could say he almost committed to the Browns before offering a big deal but unless he commits who cares?
