I dont see any viable options for anyone better . It will be a bridge qb and a draft pick
If you're correct, then Rivera has a locker room problem and the losses will be not only worse but more than projected. How does he look at his team and sell either of these guys as getting them to where they want to be at the end of another season? Careers are short lived in the NFL. Everyone knows by now that without "that guy" at QB, you're going nowhere.

Perhaps the better move comes with starting the unprepared rookie, at least you don't know what you're gonna get with him. Insert either of these two and you know exactly what you are getting.

You're right and that's Ron Rivera's problem for this upcoming year!! He won't necessarily say it aloud but it will definitely be received in a manner that goes something like this...

"Gentlemen, we all know that this will be a wasted year in your short NFL careers. Our starting QB is nothing more than a bridge guy as we prepare our young draftee to take over next season. Expectations, despite what we say to the press and fans are low, but you never know, if the NFL gods are kind and a few unexpected bounces go our way perhaps we'll win a few more games than we did in the last two years. Hell, guys 8 and 9 wins are better than 7. Ok, all in now COMMANDERS on three!!"

gentleman, nobody knows what some ones career will be or how long it will last . so save your money and you will be set for life we are trying to build something here and we in fact tried to get these pie in the sky wishful thinking qbs and we just couldnt do it

that means you guys will have to step up and make up for the shortfall and give our less then pie in the sky qbs the help they need

look at matt stafford , a decent qb with some tools , much like our guy , so play up to your potential and perhaps we can make a run and remember all these franchise qbs that sat their ass at home watching lesser qbs play in and one win a superbowl

mahomes , wilson watson , rogers , allen all sat at home and one that lost the superbowl burrow who could very well be the next dan marino for all we know

...And this is the exact moment in which he definitively loses the locker room.

Mahomes....Superbowl champion
Wilson....Superbowl champion
Rodgers....Superbowl champion
Burrow.....AFC champion
Allen....AFC championship game
Watson.....Texans have been to the playoffs six times in 20 years. Watson was the QB for three of those 6.

Doubt we get Watson....but like I said. Just tired of losing.

At that exact moment the players know the truth and step up like professionals

I know Keim is somewhat polarizing on this board, but over the years he's been spot in imo.

From his latest podcast.

Skins will try to trade for Rodgers and Wilson.

Doesn't see the Skins and Watson as a pairing with all that is going on.

Did say the Skins have called every team about their QB situation.

Doesn't think Seahawks trade Wilson with Carroll's age.

Not sure if Washington is on Rodgers radar.

Two names to watch are Trubisky and Bridgewater.

Won't force a trade for Jimmy G, but would be open to one.

Only QB he sees the Skins taking at 11 is Pickett. If Pickett is gone he thinks they wait a round or two and take Ridder.

Said most logical QB room is Trubisky/Bridgewater and a rookie.

The players already know the truth and have given their all for two consecutive seasons under Rivera producing 7-9 and 7-10 records. They know that with a much better QB the playoffs, possibly further is easily achieved. Rivera knows this too, publicly promising for two consecutive years to get them an answer at the position. If he brings in either Bridgewater, Trubisky or any of the scrubs this means that HE is the issue, not the team!! They won't give their all for someone who talks the talk but can't deliver as he asks them to do.

We cannot make the mistake of drafting a guard at 11. This is a deep draft for OL imo. At # 11 we should be able to find a LB, CB, WR or safety as a starter at that pick.

disagree. He is the best player available and fills a need. Give me an example on who you would take?

Washington has been selling this shit for years now and the results are clear. Their mantra should be "We are the Wizards of the NFL! We spend league leading money on players a don't get jack in return!"

It is interesting that most other organizations are able to get star players AND make things work with the same salary cap restrictions, but good ole' D.C. sports organizations, operate on the premise that one Bradley Beale or Scary Terry is enough to keep them interested but consistently out of the running for anything else.
