Umm he's probably more like 4 years away. 3 at best.

He did say best. Guys sometimes make meteoric rises and figure it out. I don't expect it though.

Lot of similarities. Both went through Low A Short Season Spokane ... Gallo went to Low A Hickory next but TEX jumped the older Davis over Low A Clinton direct to High A Bakersfield. Numbers below are for Gallo at Low A and Davis @ High A.

Davis played some 1b at Spokane but at Bakersfield like Gallo at Hickory both only played 3b. Davis finished his 21yo season at Frisco at 3b but from the next season forward he played 1b near full time. IMO Gallo at 6'-5" 205# ... will most likely be moved to 1b at AA too. Reading scouting reports his agility and arm accuracy does not project well at 3b.

Unlike Rua and a number of his other Hickory teammates Gallo did not move up past Low A probably due to his high K rate. So Gallo will be 20yo at High A ... year before Davis was ... and projects for a second half 2014 promotion to Frisco with 21yo full season at Frisco ... and then 22yo season (2016) at AAA and getting ML-ready.

This lineup is less imposing than the Astros....and you know what that means, scratch out 2-3 runs, hope Garza can hang on, then we win it in late innings on a balk!
