And still have an SOS north of 176…stats need to be kept in context
other teams with SOS's in the 3 digits are Alabama, Mississippi, Clemson, NCSU, Oklahoma St., UCLA & Michigan.

Those teams are all ranked higher than Minnesota but their stats, for the most part, don't come close to matching UMn's.

UMn's ranked 1-2-2-3-3-66. SOS - 177,

Bama's ranked 2-4-6-6-10-33. SOS - 100,
Mich's ranked 4-9-11-18-35-60. SOS - 176,
UCLA's ranked 11-12-17-20-30-53. SOS - 162,
NCSU ranked 10-13-26-62-70-71. SOS - 140,
UMiss ranked 4-20-29-36-48-97. SOS - 102,
Ok St ranked 8-9-39-66-70-101. SOS - 143.

Those are Total Offense, Pass Offense, Rush Offense, Total Defense, Pass Defense & Rush Defense, listed in order from best to worst.

Only Bama comes close to matching UMn's stats.

Remember, UMn's stats would have been better but they took their starters out for at least 1/3rd of the first 3 games, and in the last quarter of the MSU game. Not saying the teams listed above never played any backups, but UMn did it in ALL 4 games.

And all of you said, "just wait til you start conf play", yet very little changed cept it took Mo longer to get his 100 yards rushing and longer for PJ to pull his starters.

North of 176? You mean north of Michigan's SOS of 176? And by north, do you mean ONE SPOT higher than Michigan? LOL, you are kind of a dumbass, aren't you?!

B1G Network isn't a network? The B1G having this network is most of the reason why USC and UCLA want to ditch your pathetic conference.
No not National network. Looks like in a few weeks you will finally get to play on a network against Penn State.

UMn is 24-6 overall and 14-5 in conf play in 2019, 2021 & 2022.

UMn is 27-7 overall and 16-6 in conf play since both the new DC & Tanner Morgan took over the defense and offense as much as Coordinators and starting QBs do, part way through 2018.

2018 - 3-1
2019 - 11-2
2021 - 9-4
2022 - 4-0

UMn is 17-2 overall with Kirk Ciarocca in charge of the offense.

Mo Ibrahim has rushed for over 100 yards in 13 straight games, #1 among active fbs players.
Chris Autman-Bell had caught a pass in 40 straight games, before he got injured, #1 among active fbs players.
Tanner Morgan, I've heard, has the #1 QB rating or completion percentage in the nation. After his #1 WR went down last week, he only found EIGHT guys to throw the ball to this week, including 6 who caught multiple passes.

UMn's held 16 straight opponents below 30 points, longest streak in the country.

4 different Gophers were ranked #1 in the nation at their position after week 3 by the PFF.

UMn's on a 7 game winning streak, only Clemson & Kentucky can boast longer winning streaks right now.

Fleck's ooc record is one of the top 5 in the country among active coaches.

No not National network. Looks like in a few weeks you will finally get to play on a network against Penn State.

That happens when teams like Colorado and MSU dip down in performance just before or just as we play them, and Minnesota doesn't have a booster willing to buy the team a reputation with the blood money he's earned abusing slave labor.

But yet all that blood money still hasn't succeeded in buying Oregon more wins than what UMn has won in the past half a dozen years or so.

I just thought it was hilarious that a Michigan fan of all people thought it was his place to chide a Gopher fan about the Gopher's SOS, seeing as Michigan is only ranked one spot better than Minnesota, 176 to 177.

Vandy beat Hawaii by a larger margin of victory than Michigan did, and then the supposed worst team in fbs NMSU crushed Hawaii.

I'm not trying to diss Michigan, just the opposite, trying to say that it's dumb to dismiss all of these signs and stats pointing to UMn being legit.

Even if UMn's opponents were not that good, you have to go back literally to 1904 or 1905 to find a 3 game stretch matching the first 3 games of UMn's 2022 schedule, then we went on the road and crushed an MSU team that won what, 11 games last year and who was ranked #11 just 2 weeks ago?

Just accept reality dude, and get ready to play the Gophers in the Conf title game if you can win your division. Why do you want so bad not to believe in what Fleck has going on here in Minnesota? Do you feel threatened by him?

That is what happens when the combined records of the opponents is 3-14. Kudos to the Gophers

THE Rick Upchurch?

Well shit! Why didn’t you say so?!
Yes, THE Rick Upchurch. Saw a list about 10-20 years ago, some book came out highlighting the Top 300 players in NFL History, and Rick made the list. Only reason he's probably not in the HOF is they almost never put special teams players into the Hall.

Guys at the BTN seem to agree with you. They even ranked UMn #3 in the B1G, ahead of PSU. The one guy basically said, yeah, PSU is good, too, they are #4 behind the Gophers, lol.

And as long as you guys keep Ferentz as your coach, you will bounce back.

I think someone from mighty Minnesota U. created seat belts. And I'm pretty sure the fastest man on the planet went to that school too. I remember fred mentioning both.
Don't forget the REAL Top Gun Maverick, too. He died last year I think, or maybe in 2019?

If you don't know where a P5 school is located, are you even a fan of CFB?
The Wazzu fan I was responding to, admitted to not knowing Minnesota had a cfb team. But you won't rip him for his admission of ignorance. And yes, there are a lot of cfb fans who don't know where half the teams out there are located.

We will be fine

Our D will keep us in most every game

Just need to make a few plays on offense or special teams every week

NCAA Men's BB championships in 1939, involving a lowly Oregon Webfoots team with several losses, including to a team or teams who undefeated NIT Champs LIU successfully defeated that year on their way to the Title the vast majority of the nation recognized as the REAL Natl Championships.

And just like in cfb, where finishing a season ranked #1 in the polls/rankings out there qualifies as a Natl Title winning season, UMn has THREE Men's BB Natl Titles.

3 clear #1s, all three where UMn ended the season undefeated, vs 1 season where Oregon lost a handful of games and didn't even win the most prestigious and nationally recognized Natl Championship tournament of the time.

And UMn men's bb has produced 4 Naismith HOFers, the first NBA Dynasty, and over 40 NBAers including 4 players with multiple All-Star accolades and 5 players with 10,000+ points scored in the NBA. None of which lowly Oregon can claim.
Gotta update this, UMn now has SIX Naismith HOFers and FIFTY NBAers.
