Derek Jeter is 'revered'; because he was a media darling and player in New York. And that is the only reason. The media kissed his ass. He is not great. He is not in the same category of greatness as Babe ruth, Ted Williams, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Ty Cobb, Rogers Hornsby, etc. He is in the Robin Young, Joe Gordon, Craig Biggio class. Case in point: he is fifth all time in most....singles. He was a compiler.
i dont think i have ever heard anyone say Jeter is an inner circle HOFer... he belongs in the HOF no doubt.... probably ahead of Yount, Gordon and biggio... but definitely closer to that grouping than the inner circle...
your case in point also kind of sucks... if you wanted to prove your stance just use the fact that he never won an MVP...
