Dumbass? You think Minnesota football is elite. When's the last time they won a national title?

You mentioned a CFB book from the 70's to validate Minnesota football. Now how relevant is that book today? Since it was published The U went from a nothing program to a national championship program.

Awful Colorado football has won a national champion more recently than your team.

You don't live in reality.
Things that have changed at UMn since the late 60s, the 70s, the 80s and the early 90s???

#1 - the admin went from not caring about the football program to caring about it more than any other sport.
#2 - went from playing in that crappy metrodome to playing in their own outdoor stadium rated as one of the best places to watch a game live in the B1G.
#2b - went from being a commuter school in large part, to putting tons of effort and focus on NOT being a commuter school anymore.
#3 - went from having some of the worst facilities in the B1G & maybe in the P5, to having one of the best facilities in the B1G and maybe in the P5.
#4 - went from having a crappy DC and a losing QB in 2018, to having one of the best DCs in the nation and one of the best QBs part way through 2018, finishing that season 3-1, then going 11-2 in 2019.
#5 - went AGAIN, from having a crappy OC in 2020 and 2021, to having the OC from 2019 back.

The combination of new Admin support, new financial support, new stadium, new practice facilities, new DC & OC & QB, and a very new team attitude/philosophy, has brought about a team capable of going 12-0 and possibly winning the B1G Conf Title.

I knew the AP & Coaches polls would take forever to rank UMn where they deserve to be ranked.

But even I am surprised how quickly UMn has risen into the Top Ten of the various computer rankings.

They will continue to climb as each week they add wins and domination of the stats, and the cfp rankings, when they come out, do not pay any attention to the AP and Coaches polls. I saw one person at least already say that according to the cfp criteria, UMn would rank Top Ten right now. Not sure how legit that is, but knowing how the various computer rankings have us ranked, it would make sense.

I read a lot of forums on here. Every time I check this college football forum it’s largely unreadable. Most of the content is the OP hyping up an irrelevant football program.

With PJ, Kirk & Rossi together on the same Gopher sideline, the Gophers are 18-3 overall, 10-3 in conf, 2-3 vs AP EOS Top 25 teams, and have outscored their opponents by double, 35.8 for to 17.9 against. Got that info from someone at Gopherhole, so I'll double check his #s, he was wrong about one thing I left out from his post, so take the above with a grain of salt.

Fleck, in non covid affected seasons, since Rossi came on board part way through 2018 and Morgan took over as QB part way through 2018, is 16-6 in conf, and 10-2 in road games, and 3-0 in nuetral site bowl games. I checked those numbers.

Not really. You can’t schedule relevance. Additionally, there is no division in college football that is more irrelevant that the B10 West. Yearly, the tallest midget will get anointed and then dragged to a beat down of a championship game.

Sure there are less relevant Divisions, including BOTH of the Divisions of the Pac, one of the ACC Divisions, and the SEC East has only been barely better than the B1G West.

Notre Dame doesn't even crack the Top 25, while UMn comes in at #10. lol

Giving NDm the benefit of my fair nature, I eliminated the worst and best of the 10 rankings/ratings, and Notre Dame then comes in at 22.3 and UMn at 9.3.

There’s always a chance any given year for a playoff team to come from those divisions. There is no chance of that happening with the B10 West.

But this is what I’m talking about. Do you realize that you’re personally responsible for this board being shit and lacking any decent content? You spam the board with Minnesota threads or highjack other threads. I’m out. Enjoy the board you’ve ruined.

That is not true, and also, that is otherwise why? Before Georgia rose up, the SEC East couldn't beat the West Champs.

It could happen in the Pac simply because no team has been dominant, sh1t, the Gophers have won as many games as Oregon has in the last several years. The Pac Conf Champ barely creeps into the Top Ten if they even do, usually.

And who outside of Clemson, except for last year, has had a shot of winning the ACC Title since Clemson rose up?

stfu

I haven't ruined anything. MY threads are labeled, no one forces you to jump into them. And outside of my threads, it's always someone else starting in on me/Minnesota that gets other threads off track. Blame all of the losers with Fred Derangement Syndrome for ruining things for you.

And maybe if you weren't just like them, not willing to acknowledge a team being good when it's obvious to a ton of people out there. You are part of the problem you are complaining about.

And whose fault is it that my threads get the most attention and responses and views? If I disappeared, days could go by without any posts at all in the cfb portion of this place. And another thing, had I not been blocked from the PF, I'd spend less time in here.

Minnesota is ranked Top Ten right now, and will move up into the Top 5 of the composite computer rankings in time if they keep winning. That shows they have a decent chance of winning the Conf Title. BTN guys are already claiming UMn's better than PSU.

Hey crybaby, don't worry, I go back to work starting tomorrow and many Saturdays will have to work, at least until Thanksgiving weekend. By then, we'll know a lot more about your crappy Golden Domers and my Golden Gophers. So my time at the forum will drop drastically.

I am STILL waiting for you to back up the idiotic claim of yours! Or should I say ANY of the idiotic claims of yours!

Create a thread on a college football topic you find relevant. Easy peasy.

OH-OH TROUBLE IN PARADISE!!! It seems that the University of Minnesota disagrees with you about the 2020 season.
Joe Rossi - Football Coach - University of Minnesota Athletics

The third paragraph after the stats.
"Minnesota has thrived with Rossi leading the defense, and the Gophers are 26-11 since he took over with four games left in 2018. In addition, the Gophers have routinely placed Rossi-coached players in the NFL, as eight defensive players (Boye Mafe, Esezi Otomewo, Benjamin St-Juste, Antoine Winfield Jr., Kamal Martin, Carter Coughlin, Chris Williamson and Blake Cashman) have been selected since 2019."

That means that Minnesota IS counting the 2020 season!!!

6 of the 7 B1G West teams have finished a season from 2014-2021 with votes in the EOS AP poll or more specifically a Top 30 finish.
SEC East can make the same claim.

The B1G West has produced 26 teams who finished their season with votes in the EOS AP poll, 2014-2021. 23 during non-covid affected seasons.
The SEC East has produced 23 teams who finished their season with votes in the EOS AP poll, 2014-2021. 19 during non-covid affected seasons.

Both produced 13 EOS AP Top 25 ranked teams, 2014-2021.

4 of the 7 B1G West teams have finished a season from 2014-2021 with an EOS AP Top 10 finish. SEC East has only had 2 teams finish in the Top 10.

I could claim the B1G West's producing MORE teams that got votes in the EOS Final AP Poll proves that the B1G West has been better than the SEC East, but I won't, because I'm not just desperately trying to win an argument, I have no problem acknowledging that another team or divison or conf is better than mine, when the facts back that up, and despite the B1G West producing more teams that got some votes, Georgia's rise has helped the SEC East produce more Top Ten teams, all but 2 of the Top 10s for the SEC East being Georgia, and Georgia also finished the season ranked higher than the 4 B1G West teams that got into the Top 10 basically every year they got into the Top 10 and that strength at the very top tips the scale in the SEC East's favor in my opinion, by that very small margin I mentioned before. I am also looking forward and factoring in that the B1G West will possibly only produce 2 ranked teams this year, while the SEC East could produce 4, including the Natl Champs?

But there is nothing ridiculous about acknowledging that the difference isn't as big as you seem to have believed it has been.

Some day the West will win the BIG title. It hasn't happened in a decade though
