Things that have changed at UMn since the late 60s, the 70s, the 80s and the early 90s???Dumbass? You think Minnesota football is elite. When's the last time they won a national title?
You mentioned a CFB book from the 70's to validate Minnesota football. Now how relevant is that book today? Since it was published The U went from a nothing program to a national championship program.
Awful Colorado football has won a national champion more recently than your team.
You don't live in reality.
#1 - the admin went from not caring about the football program to caring about it more than any other sport.
#2 - went from playing in that crappy metrodome to playing in their own outdoor stadium rated as one of the best places to watch a game live in the B1G.
#2b - went from being a commuter school in large part, to putting tons of effort and focus on NOT being a commuter school anymore.
#3 - went from having some of the worst facilities in the B1G & maybe in the P5, to having one of the best facilities in the B1G and maybe in the P5.
#4 - went from having a crappy DC and a losing QB in 2018, to having one of the best DCs in the nation and one of the best QBs part way through 2018, finishing that season 3-1, then going 11-2 in 2019.
#5 - went AGAIN, from having a crappy OC in 2020 and 2021, to having the OC from 2019 back.
The combination of new Admin support, new financial support, new stadium, new practice facilities, new DC & OC & QB, and a very new team attitude/philosophy, has brought about a team capable of going 12-0 and possibly winning the B1G Conf Title.
