We will be fine

Our D will keep us in most every game

Just need to make a few plays on offense or special teams every week
I hope they match your Hawkeyes up with an interesting bowl opponent, that results in an entertaining game. Would hate to see a bowl game with a final score of 4-3 or 7-6, with the 7 being 2 safeties and a fg, lol.

We have to make a bowl first

I don't see us beating Michigan, OSU or Minnesota

So we have to win 3 out of 5

At Illinois
At Purdue
At NW
Wisconsin
Nebraska

We should get that done but I'm not extremely confident in it either

Not that homer. Not only does he overly pimp up anything Minnesota Gophers now he pimps up anything Minnesota related. It's really weird how he thinks the state of Minnesota rules everything. His homerism was funny at first, now it just lame.
UMn and the state of Minnesota was the state that more than any other helped the Allies win WW2.

And Minnesota totally transformed/ruled the world of music from 1980 into the 21st century, not even taking Bob Dylan's influence into account.

Minnesota produces the best movie writers/producers, too. And some of the best actresses and actors, too.

Minnesota's sci-fi minds combined with UMn innovations shaped the way the nation and world views the future maybe more than any other arguably?!

Per Capita wise, no state comes close to producing as many Fortune 500 companies as Minnesota has produced.

We led the Civil Rights Movement.

The sport of hockey would still be a Canadian/foreign thing, if not for all that Minnesota has done to promote the sport.

3 out of 5? Well, my money is totally on Iowa to beat both NW and Nebraska. So just get 1 win vs the remaining 3? That's more than possible. I'd say probable. All 3 of UW, PU and the Illini have shown that they can lose games they should have won.

Who knew back in the day that the movie Purple Rain was basically the revelation to the world of the new sound of music in America, in a sense?!

It starred Prince and his nemesis, Morris Day and The Time.

Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis were members of The Time, they've gone on to write/produce 16 #1s, 26 #1 R&B hits and over 100 Billboard Top 10 hits. Combine that with all that Prince did, and who he influenced. And at the same time as this Mpls Sound was being created, The Replacements and Husker Du were influencing what became the grunge movement. And it's not like Dylan's influence was no longer felt. Also at the same time Terry Gilliam and the Cohen Brothers were creating amazing movies to entertain us, too.

This and hockey all helped fill the void created when the Univ of Minnesota administration chose to abandon their college football program.

I'm not talking about Nebraska.
Dude, you have to go back to 1904 or 1905, a natl title winning season for the Gophers, to find anything comparable to what UMn has done so far this season to it's first 4 opponents.

And Football wouldn't but what it is if not for Minnesota. Up to WW2, no state in the nation produced as many football legends as the state of Minnesota did. Minny may not have produced "the most" football players, but they did produce the most high quality legendary type players and innovators of the game.

"And Football wouldn't but what it is if not for Minnesota."

Nothing more ever needs to be said. This is pure insanity and the single worst example of over the top homerism ever on this site.

Just delusional.

Look it up, the "Minnesota Shift" is one, the 4 man backfield is another, cheerleading is another. Look up why they nominated former Gopher Clark Shaughnessy THREE times for the Pro HOF when he only coached in the NFL for 2 or maybe 3 years.

Coach Williams produced coaches that went out all over the country and made several teams, such as Gil Dobie, first at Washington FB where he made them into a west coast power, then later turned Cornell into a natl power. Clark Shaughnessy started Tulane's transformation, his former teammate Bernie Bierman followed him and turned Tulane into a Natl Title winning team, another Gopher followed Bierman, Ted Cox had them winning for a few more seasons, and finally a former player of Bierman's who coached under him at Minnesota took over for Cox and had them continue their winning ways. Only after they stopped tapping into that Gopher pipeline did Tulane fall off into obscurity basically forever.

UMn produced the first pro football player EVER. UMn had the first POC in the Western/Big Conf, both are cfb HOFers, the one went on to become the first NFL player of color. UMn produced the first black All-American at QB, and later Tony Dungy took his style of offense that had him dominating the Big Ten into the NFL and it made him the first black Super Bowl winning coach. His defensive ideas also influenced the NFL.

Bierman went back home to Minnesota and transformed them into the greatest Dynasty ever in cfb history, a dynasty that needed a World War to stop it. His played went out into the world and dominated college football from the late 40s all through the 50s with Biggie Munn at MSU and Bud Wilkinson at Oklahoma and Minnesota didn't drop off the earth yet. Another Bierman player at UMn went on to coach the Gophers when Tony Dungy and his back up Marc Trestman were there. Trestman's won multiple Grey Cup Titles and Dungy a Super Bowl of course. Bud Grant was another Bierman player who gave up his NBA & NFL playing careers to turn to coaching and won multiple Grey Cup titles, one of 4 different former Gopher players who got to the Grey Cup, and is now a CFL HOFer, then went home to Minnesota and turned the Vikings into the best team in the NFC from the late 60s into the late 70s. NFL fans call Wilkinson the other Bud, cfb fans call Grant the other Bud, lol. And he relied on several former Gopher players to get to the 4 Super Bowls he got to. Another Bierman former Gopher player went on to turn Univ of Minnesota-Duluth into a winning team and he became the winningest Div 2 coach in Div 2 cfb history at the time of his retirement. One of his players went on to put Ariz St I think it was on the cfb map, and then he made Missouri into a legit natl power and then won Notre Dame a Natl Title. Ossie Solem was another Henry Williams player who went on to coaching success, winning a ton of games as a pro fb coach for the Minneapolis Marines in the decade before the NFL started up, then he went on to coach in cfb for long enough to get into the Helms AF cfb HOF as a coach.

UMn has produced more NFL coaches than any other school and 5 cfb coaches now in the cfb HOF, not counting guys who UMn hired, only former players. Because hires like Henry Williams, Spaulding, Lou Holtz, Fritz Crisler, and assistants Mike Shannahan, Mike Martz, etc. also got into a HOF or won Super Bowls, etc.. UMn's produced a more prestigious list and a longer list of fb coaches overall and more importantly a longer list of winners than the so-called Cradle of Coaches.

Didn't read any of your mini novel.

It's funny how much it bothers you that you're the only person in the country that thinks Minnesota football is one of the all time storied programs.

Keep on keepin' on. I always enjoy laughing at you.

Your homerism has officially crossed dangerous lines. The fact you said football wouldn't be what it is without Minnesota, just incredible.

I own a book about the history of college football that came out in the 70s I think? It had TWO chapters dedicated to the Gophers.

When the Cfb HOF put out it's Dozen Dynasties display, TWO former Gopher players were included, Bud Wilkinson's Sooners, and Bernie Bierman's Gophers. Wilkinson was named the Big 12 Conf Coach of the Century and also the National Coach of the Century while Bernie Bierman was named the Big Ten Coach of the Century.

The Billingsley Rankings have ALWAYS included the Gophers among his Top 20 programs ALL-TIME. DESPITE doing nothing for 30 years.

So if that book was published in 1972 it's 50 years old.

And nobody is doubting Minnesota's place in the history of CFB. But they aren't as great as you think they are.

That's why last season when I listed multiple articles that didn't have your Gophers in the top 10 programs all time you said 24/7sports, collegefootballnews & espn all had biased agendas because none of them have your team in the top 10 all time.

It's obvious you'll never change your ways and will continue to be a 24/7 over the top homer.

Your CFB book from the 70's. Since it was published how many 10 win seasons does your team have? How many division titles? How many conference crowns? How many bowl wins? And how many national titles?

All those things are legit criteria for judging elite CFB prgrams. And your team is simply lacking in every category.

Those sites write articles to get clicks, and acknowledging old time players and/or programs does not add clicks.

It's why a football channel is being criticized on facebook for highlighting Notre Dame, because they do so because Notre Dame has lots of fans all over the country, so it doesn't matter how good Notre Dame has been or is this year. It's about clicks, not the truth.

No football site is going to mention the likes of Illinois, Minnesota, Pittsburgh or Northwestern, etc., when they make their lists. They are going to mention teams with the most current fans, which means for now, Nebraska may still get highlighted, but over time, if Nebraska doesn't fix their issues, they will stop getting listed, too. Teams like FSU, Miami, Texas, A&M, USC will always get listed no matter how bad they are or were in the recent past. USC being Top Ten most of all of this season is a prime example. Miami getting ranked and then spanked is another example, A&M losing to a not very good App St is another example. Texas gets ranked almost every year and almost always fails to remain ranked at the end of the year. The second Florida won a big game this year, they went instantly from unranked to Top 10-15. And have since not backed up the faith people put in UF, because they are UF. Meanwhile Minnesota went on the road and totally pummeled MSU, but only rises from getting votes to #23/21?

Teams with the right names get preference, almost all the time.

Dumbass? You think Minnesota football is elite. When's the last time they won a national title?

You mentioned a CFB book from the 70's to validate Minnesota football. Now how relevant is that book today? Since it was published The U went from a nothing program to a national championship program.

Awful Colorado football has won a national champion more recently than your team.

You don't live in reality.

I have NEVER said Minnesota has been elite recently. Only season I came close to saying that, and it was more of a "UMn is transforming into an elite power" was 2019, when they won 11 games and beat an EOS Top Ten ranked PSU and a Top Ten ranked, at the time, Auburn team in their bowl game.

And this year.

And so far, nothing that has happened so far this year has disproven that UMn's transforming into an elite cfb power.

Only thing that came close was when CrAB went down, then questions rose up. But UMn responded by having 10 different players catch a pass from B1G Offensive Player of the Week and the #1 best rated QB in the nation right now, I think, Tanner Morgan.

Granted MSU has a bad pass defense, but it was a home game for MSU and they needed the win big time after the week before, yet it wasn't even close, and was seconds away from ending as a shut out.
