I misread your Question, No outright release, get something for him, he does have value, but take what you can get.

The problem is...who would give anything of value for Bell given his attitude? You'd need to find a team very desperately in need of a running back.

I agree, but I don't think they will get more than a third, unless the team is stupid or desperate. so take the best offer and get rid of him.

The other issue that isn't addressed here is that the comp pick is not a 2019 draft pick. It's 2020 draft pick. I guess it depends on how long you want to wait for the reward.

Any team that rents Bell for more than a 3rd rounder is asking for trouble.... They would have to have some general framework of a longterm contract that would be signed after the season and I'm not even sure that would be allowed.

We get a comp pick for bell y trade for a 3?

If Bell leaves via FA, PIT would "likely" get a 3rd rd pick (idk how the formula works exactly, but he qualifies for the max compensation I'm sure). The pick would be in the 2020 draft.

If they somehow traded Bell...whatever compensation they get via the trade is all they get, but most likely any draft picks would be in the 2019 draft.

For all we know, noone has offered up a 3rd. Maybe all the offers they are getting are for 4th round picks. We have no idea what's being offered. Only time will tell.

I'd take a 2019 4th over a 2020 3rd comp pick.

The article is not too far off...idk think IND should be looking to add a $14-15 mil per RB, but TB can afford it....I just don't think they will stay in the race long enough to justify a rental....WAS, they might be able to.

The one thing I think everyone is overlooking is he's only a rental.

There is no guarantee he will sign with whoever trades for him after seasons end, the team that does would have to be set for a deep playoff run to make a trade for him worthwhile......

Unfortunately I don't see anyone taking that chance for that kind of money or risk.....Bell not only screwed himself, but he's screwed us as far as getting rid of this trash POS.

He's nothing more than another T.O. He has what it takes to be the greatest ever, but his bullshit and attitude will render him just meh

The only team I thought might be willing to forego a draft pick for a rental is PHI because they have two 2nd rounders, and a 3rd.

WAS...they are desperate for the playoffs. If they're lingering around, Snyder will make a move like this.

The other teams are starting to fade as far as this year, TB is falling in the standings, but they are a team that will probably be interested in bringing Bell in long term.

I thought Philly might be highly interested as well. I don't think Washington will be in the market after the performance AP had yesterday. I was looking at some rushing stats yesterday and in my opinion, the Packers are a decent RB away from running away from the division. If Green Bay has an actual RB, I think they would be damn near impossible to beat.

Yep...GB. They're a lot like PIT in that they tend to build thru the draft mostly so parting with a 3rd/4th round pick for a 10-12 game rental doesn't really fit their MO.

In my mind, Bell stays in PIT the balance of this season and the teams that want Bell long term will just wait.

I'm not convinced Philly will take him they have a good 1-2 punch with Clement and Smallwood....
Washington possibly.....But I just see us getting stuck with the Dumbass.....

Just my opinion, crazier shit has happened in the NFL.....
But I also see Tomlin putting the fucktard back in the locker room thinking because we are now winning, things on the locker room have been smoothed over.

I think if the OL & Ben came to him and said they don't want him back, he would listen to them, but I think the players would probably let him back in if he's in shape.

Don't know if its been discussed yet... But sounds like ARI might begin shopping Patrick Peterson.

Cardinals Say They're Not Trading CB Patrick Peterson - Steelers Depot

After last night Bidwell might start to rethink this...AZ is dangerously close to full fledge rebuild mode if they're not already there. They're staring at a top 5 pick (I can see Bosa going there)...why not add another 1st rounder in the 20s.

The other name mentioned in this article is probably more likely to be traded Gareon Conley...(Gruden apparently feels they have better...Conley didn't take a snap last week I'm reading)

If it were me...while I would take Conley if that's the best I can get, but I'd go after Peterson and sacrifice a #1 to do it (or Burns + a #2). Conley MAY be better than Burns...we KNOW Peterson is not just better than Burns, he's a top 5 CB in the league.

I think this will be another year the Steelers don't do anything before the trade deadline. Kinda sucks because we know the secondary won't get any better, magically.

Yeah, trades in the NFL are increasing, but still it's not how teams do biz in the NFL on the norm.

I'm not sure what to expect from Burns, but he's the big hole in the secondary...he's young enough and talented enough to produce better than he has, but I'm not counting on it.

If he doesn't show any improvement coming out of this bye (actually he played pretty well in the CIN/ATL games) The best we can expect is for Butler to move Sensabaugh or Sutton into his spot.

If Gareon Conley really is on the trade block in Oakland, I'd throw a mid round pick, up to a 3rd for him. See what happens.

If the Steelers have any hope of making a run, that CB2 needs upgraded, and the solution isn't in-house.

3 trades that make sense for the Pittsburgh Steelers
