This is all true, but it was also the age of huge expansion of cable, and with it ESPN for highlights and I think also WGN was included in most basic cable packages so everyone could see every Jordan game. Yes, Jordan made the NBA, but the coverage also made Jordan.The thing that no one else can ever claim and this is what makes Jordan who he is.
Jordan was the focal point in the 90s when the NBA truly became Prime Time television.
Yeah, it started with Bird and Magic but, even when they came into the league, NBA Finals deciding games were on tape delay.
If it was Tuesday night, whatever regular show wasn't going to be bumped to show an NBA game.
Magic and Bird changed that but Jordan took it to peak level.
These guys don't make the money they make today if it wasn't for the Birds, Magics and Jordans making the NBA relevant.
