Top 3 pick looms

Not just yet. Not even at the AS break yet -- not even half way through season. Things will improve for this team as they get healthier -- which at least for tonight it seems they will get some guys back

I don't want that though, they should tank.

Well, thats dumb. Not team " should" tank

Let me remind, we were one of the worst, if not the worst team in the league prior to the Derrick Rose draft class. I believe we had the highest of odds to win the lottery, we ended up with the second pick. We got Michael Beasley out of it. He then became a pot-head and a bust, before coming back for a couple of decent short stints.

Point being, tanking doesn't always guarantee you the #1 pick nor does it always guarantee you a franchise changing player. The Heat were victimized in both regards in one draft.

Secondly, at least at this moment, there is no clear cut top 1/2 player coming out in the draft. Granted, conference play in college basketball is just starting -- then we have march madness - so someone will emerge.

But, the better approach would be to play the season out - play as best you can with what you got. Give it every effort in you - at seasons end, if you are a lottery team then you deal with it then, if not -- even better.

In recent memory, outside of Wade, Caron Butler, Justise Winslow - Riles and the Heat haven't exactly hit homers in the draft - it guarantees you nothing.

On Riles, He is not the type of guy to just tank -- no matter how bad things are for the team -- he just won't tank.

I will continue to root for the team to win - if they don't, so be it -- but to be rooting for tanking is just dumb.

Hope it turns out to be less severe than that. But, this is no knock on him, if he is done for the season - the way he had been playing -- he won't be missed.

This may at least give the team more room and obligation to make an addition to the team to help get through the season.

At least we will have our three-headed monster at the guard position - Goran-Waiters-TJ

Lol, did that comment really warrant this pissy wall of text.

Its not that serious. But I did feel that my point of view warranted context and some historical facts to back it up -- thats it.

btw, welcome to the board -- its rather inactive given the season the team is having and all else surrounding the team.

You'll be glad to know that many in here are also on the tanking bandwagon -- while some others aren't.

Any time the team is having a good moment within a game or points in the season -- the activity in here picks up.because....south fla sports fans==bandwagoners

won't be long or difficult before Waiters unseats Richardson from the starting lineup - At least having him start off the bench adds to our options with our second unit.

2 early fouls on Babbitt -- unfortunate - second night in a row it happens. Last night it got in the way of a good start for him , then of course, Spo gave him little playing time thereafter even though he was one of few bright spots.

on comes James Johnson -- not good

Early 3pt shot for Richardson -- that could mean both good and bad

Good start for the Heat. At least SOME positive momentum to take into the always dreadful second quarter. Hopefully we can keep it together into the half

The Heat have to defend those kick-outs betters as thats what is leading to these 3's they are giving up -- can't allow this game to stay too close for long or we know what happens
