Yeah, but the pitching was absolutely terrible and had the game almost out of reach within a few innings.

Blaming the offense here is like Cowboy fans blaming Romo when the Cowboys lost to Denver 51-48 many years back.

And a solid example of why the stat is mostly pointless to monitor.

Blaming the offense here is like Cowboy fans blaming Romo when the Cowboys lost to Denver 51-48 many years back.

Clearly the pitching sucked but the pitching sucks and you could have just chalked these last 2 games up to losses when you knew Keuchel and Arihara would be the starters. They had a chance to tie this game and Adolis and Kole couldn't get a hit and get the fastest guy in all of baseball across the plate.

When you have a chance to overcome bad pitching and you dont, it doesn't mean the offense lost the game but they didnt win it either, when they had a chance.

The whole point was the offense very rarely scores, much less gets more than a hit or two in the early innings of games whether it take 2-4-6 or 8 runs to win, it helps to have to score less late to come back.
