It is ironic when Burke pitches in a game that was started by someone who might not be pitching if Burke had been allowed to be stretched out to be a starter this year.

I am not sure Burke allowed himself. That might be one irony.

So the alleged story is Burke went to the FO and said stretch me out coz I want to start and they said no?

There are a lot after alleged stories out there alleging this and that. Despite the stories, he has proven all year that he is good enough to be given the opportunity to start.

I would like to think that both Burke and Cody would be given a chance to start next year. I mean with a possibility of both of them in the rotation. I know Cody would have to get shut down at some point, but surely one of our pitching prospects will be ready by then.

Terrible pitching again but productive games from Seager, Lowe, Adolis and Leody. There are certainly building blocks on this team but the pitching - starting and bullpen - should be the main focus. As far as hitting I'd rather see what Duran and Jung can bring next year and what hitting prospects step up (obviously some of these prospects could possibly end up as part of a trade to get another starting pitcher).
