Its for only 1 year of Soto and the honor of paying him $23M. But I would still consider it.There is no way that is all it would take would it? I’d do that in a split second. I know Locklear is shooting up the list cause of it last 6 months as a pro but yes please. That still leaves the Robert trade open.
My fear this offseason is that they will trade Hancock and either Woo or Miller. So along with no backup catcher they won’t have a 5th starter (guess Marco but no thanks) so they will be punting on the first half of the season for a 5th starter which will end up with the same September result from the bullpen.
Yeah but I think that is fair value. Locklear is really the only one that is pencilled in for the future from all indications. I guess just to me, if roles were reversed I wouldn’t be thrilled for the return. Its for only 1 year of Soto and the honor of paying him $23M. But I would still consider it.
Hancock.has...a shoulder..issue ..so ya have to watch that...otherwise he is good .Yeah but I think that is fair value. Locklear is really the only one that is pencilled in for the future from all indications. I guess just to me, if roles were reversed I wouldn’t be thrilled for the return.
- With Hancock it seems everyone and their mothers are down on him
-Locklear has been tearing things up, but I can’t get over last year where people were down on how bad athletically he was and how he is all power with nothing else. So a more powerful but a crappier defensive Ty France
-Clase is weird cause he seems like his ceiling is Billy Hamilton. Which I actually really like and think every team needs one but it is kind of a meh, they got Peete and Farmelo’s who’s floors are that too.
Yes it would be a Jerry type move that would cause me rage. 2 to 2 and a half weeks out of the season he'll bomb you about 10 to 12 HRs and the rest of the season surround his 2+ week streak will be strikeouts, game of hitless streaks, horrible average below .250 and fielding that'll piss you off to no end. He tore his ACL cause he misjudged a routine grounder.I always thought he had a bigger name than performance. I really didn't follow him so I could be wrong on that. If it is true, then he will be a Mariner...lol.
I was listening to a podcast that said the M’s and Phillies could’ve made a perfect trade by offering QO’s the two. He’d be a great prove it deal, but doubtful any player would come to Seattle to prove it for a bigger contract. He's done in Philly. Bryce Harper likes being at first base plus management rather have there instead of the OF. Hoskins is a streaky hitter not for the positives and is a below average fielder.
Locklear .and..Cole young...Yeah but I think that is fair value. Locklear is really the only one that is pencilled in for the future from all indications. I guess just to me, if roles were reversed I wouldn’t be thrilled for the return.

I like to judge trades not only by what we got in return but what we could have gotten. Is one year of Soto the best we could get for these guys? If so, then pull the trigger. I really don't know the answer. I just hate depleting the farm for a rental then later say we don't have enough to trade of a piece we need because of it. I go back to the Castillo trade. It wasn't bad for the return (Castillo), but it was bad because we could have signed Gausman and still had those guys to plug the holes or trade for hole pluggers.Yeah but I think that is fair value. Locklear is really the only one that is pencilled in for the future from all indications. I guess just to me, if roles were reversed I wouldn’t be thrilled for the return.
