This should work in the M's favor IF we are going to trade pitching. The game is still BS in my book, but if I am going to pretend to still care it should be time for M's to rock now.

I’m kind of so/so on Garver. Won’t hate the move but it just seems odd that they are “supposedly” in on him, Soler and Martinez. They can’t really sign 2 of them and it makes sense with the current roster

No it doesn't. They went from collecting utility guys to being interested in DH guys. Just odd.

Garver is a careless less move for me. He would be this years Ford. Solar is not the move I wanted at the start of all this but has become the best bat available to them. Are people forgetting he hit .207 and struck out 90 times in 270 AB's in 2022? But this is what cheap gets you.

What else are they going to trade from though? If ownership isn’t going to spend they basically can’t trade Ford or their young SS’s. No idea if it is even out there but if Gilbert can fetch a legit COF (like say Jordan Walker and Carlson) they might as well cause at least there is a vision.

Yeah no idea. Dipoto said they had a trade but needed money and like you said Servais said they had something that was going to excite players…but then it is has been crickets. Outside of Bellinger there isn’t a FA on the market that would excite the clubhouse. Maybe Snell but then hopefully Servais wasn’t texting the pitching staff.

I have kind of the same feeling on Soler. People keep saying he isn’t Teoscar, but I’m still trying to figure out what realistically the difference is. He gets on base more but Teo could at least pretend to play in the field.

And I’m all for getting bats but if they are going all in again on the pitching carrying the team, they can’t sacrifice too much defense IMO. They already have a below average defensive 2B…I don’t care about what the analytics say, what we saw in his time Rojas was not a good fielder. No idea on Urias, but it is a downgrade from Geno. And Canzone shocked me with how unathletic he is when you look at him.
