On this point...

Cav's had no, or at the very least little, offensive system. Their system was 'LeBron and Kyrie can be Batman and Robin... surround them with shooters and it'll work itself out.'

Isn't it reasonable to hope that a great offensive player finally married to a great offensive coach will bring about improvement here?
only thing that might be a net negative for Kyrie in Boston is that Boston doesnt have LeBron- and doesnt have the 3 pt shooting around Kyrie that he enjoyed in cleveland.

I agree

As far as managing egos and player relations--- Ty Lue is a great coach

As far as defensive schemes- he is also pretty damn good

As far as offensive schemes--- he sucks balls---- all though- a lot of it just may be LeBron hijacking the offense- or Kyrie hijacking the offense.
Yeah... if the trade goes through... we'll find out if Kyrie is the problem or not.

If the analytics don't improve under a darling like Stevens... we'll know.

I once had a Lakers fan tell me that Byron Scott was a better coach than Stevens. lol

Pop and Carlisle i think are the 2 best coaches in the league

Stevens is right after that in the next tier in my opinion.

Fair point.

That being said: the C's have the makings of a pretty good offense. I'm not too worried about it. Hayward and Horford are two of the best at their positions in the NBA. Jaylen Brown will be a very good player in this league, too.

Oh definitely

Irving and Hayward are both fantastic offensive players. Both are great at multiple things. Both shoot the 3 well, both can make plays etc.....

If I was the Celtics id focus on trying to land a shooting guard that can stretch the floor though- i like Smart a lot as a player- but getting someone off the bench that can space would be nice.

Losing 3 point shooters like Thomas, Crowder, Bradley, Olnyk- tends to hurt.

Stevens is a great coach though. As i said- id have him in that 2nd tier of NBA coaches (I think Carlisle and Pop are the best) with like Budz, Thibs is good but his stock has fallen a little, I thnk Dantoni stock is rising again.....

Do you really want to pay that much to "find out" though?

i just really think these LeBron comments are dumb---- i mean- I would never burn a jersey- but LeBron--- you play a game. A game. You get paid millions of dollars for it. You get paid millions of dollars becauuse fans spend money on it.

The fans can do whatever they want. Fans dont HAVE to be logical. Do you really take it personally when some Cleveland fan booed you for leaving? Its a game that you get paid millions of dollars to play. You have no ground upon which to chastise the fans for any kind of behavior. They pay your fucking salary. Some liquored up Celtics fans burned a jersey- it represents a minute minority of the fans. But who cares? - whos to tell them what they can and cant do? they dont like like Isiah anymore. He is going to play a GAME- and is now on the Celtics biggest rival.

And if you leave LeBron- you are gonna get booed again. You will be the enemy. There is no two ways about it. You arent going to be loved and fawned over. Its just how it is. You play a game- and if you play for the other side you are gonna get ripped- its just how it is....grow up and deal with it.
:surprised:

Bingo. Danny is paying like Brad will make him a top 10 player.

Even if he's right, you don't give up that much. No one pays sticker price in the NBA

It worked in the case of Harden & D'Antoni

IMO, it's as much about cutting loose of IT as it is about gaining Kyrie.

And I'm not talking about the injury situation, either.

And when it costs them brow or porter/barley you can waive bye bye to any title chances with this core.

Might as well start the year down in 2019.

Again, kyrie is at best ray Allen in 07. And that's big generous. Where is the KG??

Danny didn't laughably overpay for Allen and that's how he landed KG.

Just saying, when you overpay for the Chris Bosh in your big 3....it's hard to land the big fish you truly need to win a title.
