He served his purpose last year but one of our guys in AAA should be playing instead of him. Just about any other team would have cut a 199 hitter with 1 HR loose a while ago.

Have no idea why Taveras hesitated twice going from first to second on the Smith double. There were 2 outs.

Haven’t heard about Fabian.

He is not on any prospect lists because he has been a career minor leaguer. He has been in professional baseball for 10 seasons. He will finish this year with 3000 minor league at bats.

Great night for several hitters. I think it was a pretty good night for Dane Dunning. He really shouldn't have had to go back put for the 6th inning, given that this was his first start in a long time, and he threw almost 30 pitches Sunday, I believe. If we had a decent bullpen, Bochy would have never sent Dane back out for the 6th.

The Rangers posted a 9-7, 10-inning win tonight at Boston. According to STATS, it was the Rangers' 1st win when trailing by 3+ runs with 2 outs in the 9th-inning-or-later since 6/9/07 vs. MIL. The last such win by Texas on the road?: 6/12/90 at OAK.

Tepid mentions that Robby Ahlstrom is pitching on back to back rights this evening for Round Rock. That is often the last test for a minor league reliever to pass before they bring him up. Looking at the box score it doesn't appear that he passed with flying colors.

career minor league who is hitting better than Grossman and Jankowski and Taveras, plays all 3 outfield positions, has a better arm. throw in Harris who has played 48 games in CF and 42 in LF and we're a lot better than we would be a lot better than the 3 we have up here now
