Yeah, you are wrong here.
Poole is a really nice player.
But he is a dime a dozen. Lots of instant offense players out there who only contribute on 1 side. Can he be a better defender on time?
Sure. But he isn’t ever going to be an asset defensively. And against teams like Boston who have bigger guards? It is very difficult to play Poole and Curry at the same time. Which means, in certain matchups he is limited to about 20 minutes a game.
Klay and Dray aren’t close to what they were. Wiggins is easily your 2nd best player.
And as fun as Poole is to watch offensively, he isn’t good enough to justify keeping over Wiggins.
He is the type of player who makes a great piece on a top team, but give him that bag and ask him to be 1 or 2?
You ain’t going to be doing much winning.
In other words, his future isn’t bright enough to justify retaining him over Wiggins who extends your window of contention with the Curry core.
Warriors seem to think that Poole is more than just a dime a dozen player.
