You know it, I know it. He will ask soon. That was a one year go for it that failed. They have ZERO assets to improve the team, no cap space, Booker and Beal give you the exact same thing (scoring, no D) and KD basically now that too, coach is dead man walking

There are places he would fit great like OKC (too weird to come back?), Cleveland (eh), dare I say Golden State?(can say it but they don't have enough to trade), Lakers (same), New York, etc

Who's got enough to trade and who'd want it?

Fuck it. Trade him to the Lakers for Dlo/Reaves/Rui and all the picks.

Lebron/AD/KD what a squad!!!

*watches them make the 9th seed and lose in the 1st round to the Grizzlies*

Not implausible but someone with better assets would outbid.

Best offer he’s going to get… MPJ and Gordon. (If that)

Him asking for another trade is a trainwreck waiting to happen and you know it…

Well yeah he never should have left Golden State. Been a trainwreck ever since.

But you think the Nuggets would do that? And no that isn't the best they will get they are going to (or rather they'd better) tear it all down, you want picks and very young guys, not trying to win next couple years. Gotta trade Booker too. Beal is untradeable, he'll just have the Wizards situation for the last 3 years of the deal. Poor Bradley.

Denver probably won’t do it, but they do need a playmaker not named Jokic or Murray… KCP is an uninspiring option at the 2. A big three of Jokic/Murray/KD will allow P-Wat and Braun more room for error in their respective development.

Booth should at least gauge Phoenix’s interest.

You said yourself Booker and Beal don’t play enough D… For that reason they’ll have no interest in D-Lo. That said, that scenario is still more likely than Ishbia dealing Booker. Just won’t happen.

At 36, the window of acquiring valuable picks for KD has passed… MPJ/Gordon is the best they’ll ever get.

Last part is bullshit. You'll see.

OKC makes the most sense if they want him.

He could be the final piece to the puzzle for them. Could also be ideal for his legacy.

I think it depends on how far the Thunder get in the playoffs and he declares he wants out of Phoenix before a decision like that is made. Say they reach the finals and lose....do they reach out?

The OKC thing is fun to think about but they need more beef on that team not more twig. Holmgren and Durant as your PF/C combo is too much of a problem on the defensive side of things.

Stylistically KD seems like a good fit. But OKC is a team that is well built and seems poised to be making finals runs soon. Not sure I'd want to risk messing that up by bringing in a 36 year old vet who's going to expect a lot of touches and shots.

Lots of talk about it around here. I just don’t see it happening though because Presti is going to continue to say he isn’t trading for someone he may already have or be getting ready to draft. KD is still good, but in truth he is nowhere near what he was or will likely still command. Not totally sure what he can really bring at this point to a young team like the Thunder. Kenrich Williams is the veteran presence that keeps these guys grounded and even though he doesn’t play a ton the guys respect him and I hear he is quick to squelch any situation that comes up. That’s just something KD is never going to be, he’s not that guy.

How are you putting together enough salary from the Thunder in return for Durant? It would take 1/2 of the team.

What about the Cavs for a Mitchell package?

A sign and trade with Giddey would be the only way to even start getting there. I’m not ruling out KD coming back, but I think we are still a couple years away from it being realistic.

There’s also a strong likelihood he won’t be traded at all. Remember the summer of 2022…
Sure, maybe not. But he will ask for a trade, and they would be stupid not to blow it up right here. Just accept that they rolled the dice and lost. No way to improve the roster.

How many teams have the cap space to fit him?

It's not a free agent signing, they would be trading back similar contract amounts. The question is who has expiring deals and picks?
