Oh @OregonDucks haven't you heard.

Good teams make the injury excuse....

Championship teams overcome the injury excuse with depth.

This guy sounds like a brittle bitch. For his sake, it sounds like he needs to go to the draft now while he has any draft stock.

Is anyone afraid to play USC these days???

And his second year that 7-6 record was due to injuries, as a starter in his second year he had a good record and that was WITH Willie Taggart as HC.
All road games present some challenges, even ones likely to have smaller crowds. At the very least your own defense doesn't get that home crowd behind them.

Right now I just think the road games for UW and Stanford look a bit easier for the north race. Yes, Stanford gets USC on the road, but in week 2. Shaw should have his team father along that early.

There's no one better in this draft class...

Many could argue Haskins especially his dominance late in the season. He is projected to go top 10 right. So the top 2 were Herbert and Haskins. Next year he will have to compete with a lot more QB's coming out.

Herbert had bad deep ball accuracy actually...

"Herbert connected on just seven of 26 passes made 30 or more yards downfield in 2018. Of those passes, 11 were considered "on-target," which equates to an on-target percentage of 42.3 percent. So, how bad is that? Well, here are the on-target percentages on downfield throws of the same length from other prominent college quarterbacks this season"

42% compared to Tua 70% and Haskins at 69%.

I would have taken Haskins over Herbert if Herbert would have declared this year.

That wasn't the point. It isn't haskins v herbert...it was Mariota v any of them.

lol, Mariota is average at best. He's ranked somewhere between 17th and 23rd in current NFL rankings. You really think it's hard to find someone in college that can reach higher than that?

He is almost done with his 4th season and hasn't ever finished in the top half of the league. It's time to get over him. He was an outstanding college QB and hasn't translated to the NFL. It happens. A lot.

More successful Titan QB than Jake Locker.

So much of this depends on the team and the system. How well would have Brady done at Cleveland? Think he'd have any rings?

Wiz is mostly correct. He is rated right in the middle of the 32 NFL QBS. I googled 3 sources one had 17, the other 2 had him at 16. He has proven to be a little brittle. However the city and franchise love him and he did lead them to a playoff victory last year and will host a playoff game this year. If they continue to improve and make the playoffs every year he isn't going anywhere.

It does suck though for NFL draft fans. Without Herbert there isn’t a single QB this year a GM worth his salt would trade up for. Trades for QB’s make the draft fun. So the 2019 draft is just going to be Mel Kiper talking about his sexual fantasies about how good guys are with their hands and their get off.

Middle of the road starter is still pretty good. Just not great/ pro bowl caliber.

The point was it is certainly possible to find an upgrade. Not saying it's a slam dunk, just possible. Should they? Depends on if they question his durability or not.

Ducks will need to find a new excuse for underachieving now. Won't be able to blame it on a new qb.
