I think neither QB will be in Pitt in 2 years from now. I even think Tomlin will be gone by then too.

I agree with the QB thought I think RW is washed and I don't understand why anyone thinks Fields isn't a bust. Tomlin is up in the air because they really love him in Pitt so unless they completely bomb it would be a little hardsell.

Certainly not the fans. We see him as a decade plus of underachievement and wasted roster talent.

Bold move to try the opposite.

What exactly is seen on the film that makes him a generational talent?

Besides the fact that he showed up to a team that was 4-8 the previous season and won the Heisman? I don't think there was a 1st round pick out of USC last year, and I'm not seeing another 1st round pick out of this team this year either, so I don't think his offensive success is due to the talent around him.

USC was the #3 offense in 2022, and the #11 offense in 2023. I think he is easily a generational talent. The best prospect since Lawrence for sure. Plenty of film to back that up.

Hell, I was told by someone here that Fields would start more than 10 games next year save for injury. LOL

- Arm talent (Arm strength, accuracy in all 3 levels, off-platform, on the run, ability with different arm angles)
- Poise in the pocket despite having a bad OL
- Ability to extend plays when his WRs doesn't initially separate

Kid has #1 overall tape for 3 years, not sure how you pass on that

I think it’s quite a tell when the Steelers had to announce that Russ was the starter along with announcing getting fields.

Eventually Fields will take over.
He is the better player as of today

Wilson to Fields: "I may be washed up and you are a RB playing QB..."

Shouldn't take long for the "Pittsburgh's offensive line needs help!" comments to start rolling in around week 4.

It's that when the pick become a 6th or a 4th?

He has to play 51% of the snaps. So slightly over half assuming Wilson is the only one playing the other 49%.

So Stakes saying, "About 52% of the way into the season" is a cheeky way of saying 48% of the remainder would go to Fields (although nobody can predict whether he'd have more snaps than the first 52% lol). Can see it now:

GM/Owner: "How many snaps does Fields have at the end of week 16?"
Stat Guy: "53% sir..."
GM/Owner: "I think it's time for something to happen... to Justin...."
Doctor: "Baseball bat?"
GM/Owner: "What? No just give him some injection that makes him sick or something, Jesus."

Or just give him some Skyline Chili……

Idk. I can see them converting Fields to WR. A RB / WR hybrid is pretty valuable. That would also solve their WR depth. They can run plenty of wildcat packages to keep defenses on their toes. At the very least, Fields is a weapon with the screen game and intermediate routes.

The Vikings tried that QB/WR/kick returner thing with some guy they drafted to try to replace Brett Favre back in the day.

It didn't work out at all, can't even remember the guy's name, but he was insanely athletic. But yeah, these guys who go from QB to other positions don't usually seem to benefit all that much from it.

Joe Webb.

Better draft pick than Christian Ponder.
