I remember another PAC12 quarterback returning for his senior season after being projected to be a high pick after his junior year... wonder how that worked out for him...
Well he is still playing in the NFL, so it must have worked out okay with him. :noidea:

Good for Oregon, bad for Herbert in regards to his draft stock unless he really excels next year. If the Giants, Dolphins, and Redskins spend high draft picks for a QB in this draft(which is highly unlikely but I can still see one or 2 of them doing so), you'd have to think you have MAYBE 3 QB-needy teams next season and likely Tua and Fromm coming out so I can't see his draft status improving. If this is a decision more about enjoying Eugene for another season than best of luck to him, but it's not a great decision from a business standpoint

The rebuttal to that is that it is a great business opportunity in a way though. The later in the first round he goes the better chance he can go the Aaron Rodgers route of not being forced into action while trying to adjust to the NFL. The better the team is around you the better chance you have to look good. None of the teams that need a QB outside of Jacksonville are even remotely just a QB away from being good unlike the Browns were this past draft.

Lets be honest, only reason he is coming back is because he was promised he gets to create his own uniform combo next year that Oregon will wear once they are eliminated from the conference title in mid October again.
Actually I think the Ducks will do pretty good next season. I think PAC 12 as a whole will be good next year, I see the Huskies, WSU, USC, Cal, ASU, Oregon and Stanford being pretty good next season.

I wouldn’t be so quick to put us down in the good department. We will be loaded at skill positions as we will bring back nearly the entire team but unless Leach finds another transfer we will have a freshman at QB. I think with all the underclassmen that shined we have a chance to finish second but having a freshman try to navigate our schedule we should again be picked 5th in the north in the preseason.

Never underestimate Leach.

Fair, except his entire offensive philosophy and team success is based around the QB, and as currently stands between every QB on the roster none have taken even close to a meaningful snap. I truly hope this Cooper kid can be great because if he is as advertised then WSU will challenge for the north again with all they have coming back but if not we will just be a team that wins 1 or 2 we shouldn’t but will lose 2 we shouldn’t.

Yeah, there is a tiny bit of a difference between two 5 star recruits playing on loaded teams versus a 4 star who plays at Washington State.

Fromm wasn't a 5 star.

Didn't want to bust like Mariota. Smart move, he is not a NFL QB
