What a coincedence his first game back will be against the Texans.
I suspend my disbelief further in daytime soap opera's or professional wrestling than NFL half the time I swear.

(6 + 17)/2 = 11.5.

And because the judges decision holds more weight than the NFL wishes, we round down.

Easy NFL math.

It got reported a lot, and the NFL never spoke against it.
OK...it got reported a lot NFL would not come off of a year or longer suspension.....that the NFL would accept the former judge's initial ruling. That her ruling would be 2-4 games, 4-6, 6-8, a full year, etc. That we'd get an answer right away.....by end of last week.....by Monday of this week.....by end of camp.

Reporters can pretty much just guess/make it up as they go. It just never really made sense they were going to do anything to help out the team that was complicit in Watson's issues....and lo and behold, not only wont he miss the game vs. Houston but it looks like as of now it will be his first game back.

Watch...wont be long before the reports will be the NFL did this to punish the Texans (which I also don't believe)

Yeah, Im sure the Browns beating the Texans by 30 points because of their new QB is going to make the NFL look good...

4 road games for Watson = televised dumpster fire.

I'm surprised he'll get to play in Week 13, but who knows. Maybe the Browns will think better of it and leave him off the game-day roster. :noidea:

This really is best of both worlds. Deshaun gets a shot to play this year and the NFL shows its ass. Again.
I dont know if the NFL has really ever dealt with something like this before. You might have both announcers being actively upset with a teams QB during a telecast. Im not sure how that is supposed to work. Usually the idea is to get a Collinsworth and talk about how great a QB is all game.

ProFootballTalk reports that Deshaun Watson will be suspended for 11 games with a $5 million fine.

A copy of an agreement between the NFL and NFLPA surfaced on Twitter, which a ProFootballTalk source indicated is real. The ruling indicates that Watson's 11-game suspension will begin after final roster cutdown. He will be eligible for reinstatement on November 28. The settlement directs Watson's $5 million fine, along with $1 million each from the Browns and the NFL, into a fund to "support the work of non-profit organizations across the country." While the prospect of seeing Watson on the field in 2022 remains jarring, the NFL's goal of an indefinite suspension took a hit when Judge Suan Robinson issued a ruling of a six-game suspension. Watson will be eligible to return in Week 13 when, unbelievably, the Browns travel to Houston to play the Texans.

What's remarkable is that it's the Browns paying the fine. I get its more for looks but the Texans....getting away with murder.
Texans dont have Watson anymore. In NFL terms, thats way bigger punishment. Im not sure you've fully processed how long people will hate the Browns

I agree, the Browns signed him AFTER his issues, the Texans helped him conduct them.

It's quite possible the Browns volunteered to add in the 1M as a show of good faith to the cause. Hell the NFL even fined itself 1M.

I don't care lol

They've been a laughing stock for 20 years and prior to that lost the team altogether.

I will be happy to bask in the tears of the haters if it means wins. zero fucks given

Well so much for PTI suggesting the league didn't want that scumbag playing in that game at Houston on 12/4.

So do any people in this thread have an issue with the 11 game suspension, should it have been longer?

And maybe instead of 5m dollar fine that sexual predator should have been fine 1m for every case he settled.
