If Rivera and Del Rio cant find a place for Ryan Kerrigan on the team - situational pass rusher, back up DE / OLB hybrid, or whatever - ESPECIALLY after he restructures his contract, then they arent good coaches.

High motor / high character players who do whatever it takes to stay on the team are exactly who you want to keep during your transition.

I have said this several times but too many are way too concerned about 3-4 versus 4-3. Playing the freaking defense right is/has been the problem. I don't give a fuck what defense Dan wants. I want the football people to make that GD decision.

We can all take cracks at how the defense will align but ultimately we need to see what Rivera/Del Rio want. I think we have the personnel now more for a 4-3 under. Because we have so many DE/Sam LB types. Kerrigan/Sweat, Anderson and Allen.

For those who listened to Hoffman today and for the most part I agree. LDE is Allen, Ironman, Payne, Sweat/Kerrigan at RE. Anderson at Sam, Foster, SDH and Holcomb for the Mike and Will LBer.

JMO but I think Chase Young becomes less important and would look for a trade down to get more picks and look for a 4-3 style LBer.

That's insane. Why on earth would you pass on the best defensive player to come out since K. Mack? I agree with Hoffman. You still take Young and make him whatever you want. RK should be traded ASAP.

Didnt Young already get suspended for taking money? The highest he can go next year is #2 because Lawrence will be #1. What does he have to gain by coming back?
