Dragging my feet on getting season tickets because I don't know what my friends are doing and I have some friends who give me free tickets to sit with them occasionally. I should probably get on that.
I'm gonna wait, I have my youngest who will be an 8th grader this fall so he's going to have football games on Saturdays.
I'm gunning for 2020 season tickets
UW is always in need of home grown talent.
It's never too late to start him on HGH and put him on a 6 hour a-day workout schedule so that he can be UW's next star.
In all seriousness, you're going to have a great football season. You get to see your son and the Huskies play on Saturdays. I already know you're lobbying to make sure his games don't overlap with the Dawgs.
What exactly are we expecting to see or learn from the spring showcase or what ever the fuck they are calling it?
Like 4 of their main receivers missed spring. So they never really did get to see the full offense. We do get to see the younger receivers and check out where they are.
Petersen was pissed off before their second practice with all of the media attention about Eason vs Haener. He's likely not tipping anything in this showcase and leaving both to do some vanilla routes and drills.
Easy to pick the defense with all of their turnover and youth, but again are they fully tested in this format with a shorthanded offense running vanilla plays?
Would like to say seeing a kicker making long ones would be nice, but we've seen that in prior years only to have hot garbage for the season.
I absolutely detest this format as it is. Play a damned game. Ok, so another practice is more informative for the coaches. Give the fans what they want. You get 14 the way you want and we get 1. It's not that hard.
Of course I'll record it and watch it when I get time, but it just sucks.
We went to most of the spring games in the James era. Always a good day.I don't think we'll see anything that's any more noteworthy than what the reporters give us from the spring practices. If anything, I'd expect it would be even less than that as the team probably doesn't want to tip off too much. Offensive and defensive schemes will probably be dumbed down, a lot of rotation and I have a feeling that it really won't reveal much.
I recall in one interview Petersen seemed less than happy with having to do this spring game. When asked about it, he gave some response along the lines of "We have to do it."
Despite being as big of a die hard fan as anyone else here, I don't think I've ever watched the Spring Game. I'm not sure if it has been televised in the past. Out of pure interest I'll probably end up watching it, but I won't expect that there will be much we can realistically take away from it.
We went to most of the spring games in the James era. Always a good day.
Now? Meh.
As for having to do them, it's self imposed. It's supposed to cut down injury risk, film for other schools to get on your next crop of kids, and whatever bs excuse they want to add. Plenty of schools still run them.
We used to as well. Seahawks were bad and James run wad during those earlier years.James was a bit before my time and I've never really had much interest in attending the Spring Games despite being a big fan.
It's a bigger deal in SEC country because those communities revolve around college football.
Did you read what Browning had to say about arm strength? He got zero help from the coaching staff.Yeah, saw that browning set a record for UDFA money last night and just shook my head.
Also watched most of the spring whatever the fuck they called that lame shit and again just shook my head.
Not at all feeling confident that whoever they give the starter role to will have the elite support they need to break out this year.
Haener's a good kid and he's hungry as hell. Threw another pick yesterday on a ball that shouldn't have been thrown. He needs more guidance. Eason didn't throw any, but had a few what the fuck are you doing throws as well.
Yes, 3-4 of their main WR targets missed all of spring so we never have seen them really play with the true 1's, but a shit throw is a shit throw.
At least the defense is looking like they are on pace to be good again despite all those loses.
That was all in that article I linked pre draft where he talked about that 3 month stint. The quote in this was taken right from that. And yeah, that's why I was pissed off at the staff when that article came out.Did you read what Browning had to say about arm strength? He got zero help from the coaching staff.
There's nothing 'top flight' about UW's offensive coaching staff. They've yet to hire a real OC.That was all in that article I linked pre draft where he talked about that 3 month stint. The quote in this was taken right from that. And yeah, that's why I was pissed off at the staff when that article came out.
There is zero excuse for a top flight college football staff to have a kid that hasn't ever played baseball or golf and had no understanding of how to use the lower body to add more power and not have the staff recognize that and develop it.
So what obvious things are they not finding/fixing with the current guys?
