I like the hire. I think he will create some creativity for the offense. I hope that he can recruit the guys he needs.

I like the hire as well. I believe he was one of the top candidates and seems like a very good fit for this program and its culture.

Very happy we got a guy whose very offensive minded and should go a long way to fixing how broken that side of the ball is.

He said all the right things at the press conference. But now it's time to go to work. Put together a great staff. Keep the wall up on the instate talent. Recruit hard. Get things back on track.

I'm very interested to see how the staff gets filled out. Would love to see Malloe moved back to DL coach, if we can keep him, and keep Ford on the staff to assist with recruiting.

I like the hire and hopefully get this program back on track. Can't wait to see what type of offense he brings to the table and if successful the wins will start coming back and the recruiting will get better.

What are his base sets for offense and defense? Does anyone know any specifics on his onfield strategies?

Wondering if any Oregon defects will come over this way. Haven't seen any decommits on 247 yet, but I would guess there will be a few with Cristobal leaving.

Expect a bunch of decommits coming. Some have already been promised cash / already got their first payments delivered by the bagmen and NIL deals to get their commitments. Makes backing out more difficult for those already on Nikes slushfund payroll.
But expect the decommits to come quickly in the next week.

He'll get put to the test real quick. Need to find some guys and timing is looking pretty good right now.

I really do like the DeBoer hire.

Realistically the only other options would've been Matt Campbell or Kalani Sitake. Apparently the Trojans also went hard after Campbell before throwing $100m at Lincoln Riley, so that probably wouldn't have happened. Sitake I felt was a long shot given his BYU roots and success he has had there.

I would really like to see them make a run at Donte Williams. He's also a great recruiter.

It'll be interesting to see what the Huskies do regarding the defensive staff.

For all of the offensive ineptitude the Huskies suffered from in 2021, I think one of the biggest questions that hasn't really been raised is how the Huskies had literally the #1 pass defense in the country in terms of passing yards allowed per game, yet had one of the worst run defenses in the country.

I have to wonder if that is a product of the defensive schemes the Huskies were using. For whatever it's worth, Pete Kwiatkowski's defense at Texas was even worse than UW at defending the run and I'd assume he brought similar schemes with him from Texas to UW.
