Well another big week with #9 coming into town!

This match up is always a slug fest. Its like the Dawgs and Utes and try to see who can hit the hardest.
Ute fans seem to believe this will be an easy victory.

Considering how well they are running the ball and how bad UW is at tackling, I can't blame them, but these two always seem to play close games that come down to a play or two late.

And lol at arguing over the TE when this team has duds at LB, can't get to the QB, and basically no WRs can catch consistently.

Having 3 RB injured hasn't helped. Losing newton was a big blow with how solid he was running on short yardage plays.

This team is horrible on 3rd downs and have no answer for short yardage plays.

TE is not even in the top 8 things that have derailed this season.

Well besides reviewing all the game tape from the first half of the season the coaches decided to go back to basics and had players review tackling in drills....

Im not optimistic they will have those linebackers in the proper alignments and using the technique needed to slow down Utah's run. Can they keep them under 300 yards on the ground with that unit?

Dawgs defense has always been the Dline takes the gaps, ( occupies the oline freeing the LB's) in this case, I think gap response ability is key this week. You don't blitz, you drop 8 in the box and challenge them to throw.

On paper it makes sense for them to feel that way. Had this been on the road, I'd definitely expect it to be an easy win for them. Despite all of the flaws of the Huskies and the strength of the Utes, playing at Husky Stadium is always hard. Surprisingly the last two home games I attended (USC and Oregon) were two of the loudest games I've heard from the crowd in the Chris Petersen era IMO and I've only missed around 4 or so home games the last 6 or so years.

The Utes match up well against the Huskies, but you could've said the same thing about Oregon. We have a few things going for us in the fact that Utah isn't as good as Oregon and that the Huskies will be rested and had ample time to prepare.

My armchair head coach opinion is that the interior defenders have been stout, but the inside linebackers lack a combination of instincts, athleticism, scheme awareness and or tackling ability once the HB makes it to the second level.

From my observations the defensive tackles have done a solid job at eating up the interior offensive lineman and ensuring they don't get a push forward, but the inside linebackers have lacked gap integrity and when the runningback finds the hole or makes a cut, they've either missed the tackle or allowed the HB to fall forward for extra yardage.

With the way the Huskies run their base defense it falls on the inside linebackers to stuff the HB once they find the hole. Unfortunately they have been absolutely atrocious at doing so.

Shit you just said what I did but in simpler terms.

That was about as bad as it could get in the second half for the offense. The defense did its job but once again the offense stalls out.

Mistakes aside if he declares I do think he'd go in the first round, second at worst. Guys with his arm and size don't grow on trees.

I'm biased because I don't want to be going into next season with an inexperienced QB, but I do think he would be best off by coming back next year and could improve his draft stock. He clearly suffers tremendously whenever he's under pressure and he needs to work on going through his progressions more effectively.

I'm really dying to know what the hell he saw/was thinking on that first interception. That was triple coverage. That interception cost us at least 3 points, his fumble led to the Utes kicking a field goal and obviously there is the pick six.

Props to how well you guys have turned around this year. After those demoralizing defeats at home against Oregon and Utah I'm actually more worried about our game against you guys than I probably should be.
