Good for him!

Hey you really do wish the best for these kids, I think its great now they can take off when they can't win a starting gig or aren't man enough to stick around and compete..........
These kids have a short window to play. The days of stockpiling QB's are over with ... just ask Jalen Hurts.

USAtoday adds Washington to its 2019 misery index. It's actually spot on and very deserved. They make it clear this isn't about programs that simply have coaches that can't get it done vs unrealistic fan expectations.

They dive into it with:

At the same time, though, there are certain things that can't be excused and clear warning signs that become reliable indicators of failure. Sometimes, the panic isn’t ridiculous
.

Washington: It’s completely legitimate to look at Chris Petersen’s tenure as a big success, having reached three consecutive New Year’s Six bowl games (including one Playoff berth) along with top-15 finishes. At the same time, the Huskies seem to carry around a whiff of fraudulence. They rarely beat anyone good and pretty consistently drop one or two games a year against pretty mediocre opponents while everyone acts as if it’s a shock. But at this point, it’s not a shock that Washington lost to California, 20-19, in a game that was delayed 2 1/2 hours due to severe weather. While the circumstances of the game were odd, the problem was predictable — the Huskies’ offense turned the ball over twice and settled for four field goals after long drives. For Washington, a team many people had pegged into this year’s Playoff, this one goes right alongside losses last season to Oregon and Cal (again) in which its offense just wasn’t good enough and 2017 when the Huskies removed themselves from Playoff contention with losses to unranked Arizona State and Stanford. Any top program can get caught on a given day, but the really elite programs don’t make it a trend. At Washington, it’s happened with regularity, so perhaps it's time to stop expecting the Huskies to get back into the Playoff.

We've all said pretty much the same. We all had them at best of 9-3 or 10-2 despite them having the most favorable schedule in the Pac north.

The defense was just plain bad for a home game. I remember them struggling with tackling early and getting those fixed so I'm not in a panic there.

The offense once again is lackluster and unfortunately it was predictable and expected. 6 dropped passes by their upperclassmen and what appeared to be being out coached in their defensive play calling to our offensive calls. That won't ever improve until Petersen pulls his head out of his ass and gets a real OC.

Well I ain't jumping on the "holly crap they suck wagon"!

I think the whole delay screwed with them, plus the added pressure of hearing all week how Cal beat them last year.
Receivers need to catch the damn ball and tackling needs a tune up....

They'll be fine !

To be clear, the wheels haven't come off the bus and of course they can still win the conference. Still, this team can't take the next step without addressing the continued issues on offense.

They really should have played some of the young receivers against eastern and get them play time. We got what we have grown to expect from the upperclassmen in that group.

Not really worried about the defense. Lake will get them tackling right and staying in their assignments fairly quickly.

The only impact from the weather though was the loss of 40k fans and that impact on the opposing offense. In a 1 point game that clearly hurt UW and helped Cal, but they deserved to lose as badly as they played on both sides of the ball.

I do fully expect them to win several games in a row now though. Stanford will be a challenge, but one I do think they can win. Im not worried about Hawaii or BYU.

Not sure what to expect this weekend. On paper they should cover easily, but they have not had a road game yet so we have no feel for how they will play. Particularly with those receivers. Im taking them to win, but wouldn't be surprised if it is closer than anyone expects. A blowout would be nice though.
