Chuck was calling for 10 games, Shaq/Ernie/Kenny all said 5. I say 5-7 sounds about right.

I'd say 5. He's been suspended multiple times for something similar.

5 is probably the right number, and its too bad.

It is possible for Cleveland to overcome the loss of Love, but I don't think they can beat the bulls without love and JR.

Its crazy how costly a game 4, that led to a sweep, might end up being for the cavs

Given that Kelly Olynyk was allowed to intentionally dislocate Kevin Love's shoulder and not even get called for a foul, J.R. shouldn't even get a fine, let alone a suspension.

I don't see it. Given the number of intelligent people that feel differently, I'm guessing I'm letting my fanhood clout my thoughts on this... but I just don't see it. I see 1 game, maybe. That's it.

Metta connected and put his elbow into Harden's throat... when the ball wasn't even in play.
Smith threw an elbow blindly - during a battle for a board - and ended up slapping Crowder in the face with the back of his hand.

The fact that Crowder sustained a sprained knee on the play - which had nothing to do with JR's stupid elbow throw - should have nothing to do with the suspension decision IMO.

We've seen elbows thrown in box-outs all the time. I'm not excusing it... it is stupid and very dangerous. But its no comparison to what Metta did.

Let's stop acting like it was a normal elbow. You're being a ridiculous homer. It was basically a closed fist swung to the head area with the intent to harm

Nope his elbow to harden in the playoffs a few yrs ago

Oh damn I totally forgot about that, good call! And Smith better get a fuckin' suspension. Also what Perkins did was a 100% bitch move.

There was nothing normal about that cheap shot Smith delivered. Some Cavs fans gotta wake up & realize that.

When the league announcs their decision, I have a feeling some stupid people on here are going to start crying anything-for-LeBron conspiracy theories.

In before that:

7 related incidents from this season:

1) Whiteside intenionally elbows Olynyk in the back of the neck while running down the court - Suspended 1 Game

2) Reggie Evans elbows Anthony Davis in the head - No Suspension, fined $15k

3) PJ Tucker elbows Blake Griffin in the chin. - Suspended 1 Game

4) David West elbows Blake Griffin in the jaw. - Suspended 1 Game

5) Mario Chalmers throws elbow at Nowitzki - Suspended 1 Game

6) Vince Carter throws elbow at Steve Adams - Suspended 1 Game

7) Markieff Morris elbows Serge Ibaka in the face - Suspended 1 Game

Most of these guys actually contacted with their elbows... some not even when the ball was in play.

I don't think anyone is going to cry. He's going to get at least 2 games. You're the only person in the world who's acting like it is no big deal

I say leave him alone and disband the Boston Celtics for the good of basketball.

Now the Bruins and the Patriots will offer Olynyk and Crowder no cut contracts to play with them next year.

Looking back at related suspensions over the last 10 years... only 2 elbow incidents (out of 37) resulted in more than 1 game suspension.

1) Everyone knows about Metta World Peace - 7 games

2) Thomas Robinson got 2 games for this vicious intentional elbow that connected to the face after the whistle
