So what is it if they don’t use the option. I mean this is all so fucking stupid because the damn agreement says they have to sign a 4 year deal. Why do you get to change the contractual agreement. It’s because a 4 year contract with an option is not a 5 year contract.
Just like T-rex's 4 year contract with options. or are you admitting you think it is now a 2 year contract?
Just like Kaeps contract with the Niners. Just like all NFL players contracts with team options.
It spans that amount of time.
Contracts get cut short all the time in the NFL.

What does the CBA say? I’ll tell you, “Rookie 1st round picks are mandated in signing a 4 year deal”. End of fucking story. The team has their rights for 5 years. That’s not a player signing a 5 year contract. Just because they have their rights for 5 years doesn’t change the fact they sign 4 year contracts. You are all confusing rights with contract. The team has the right to later make it a 5 year deal but the original contract is for 4 years. Most teams just honor the 4 years and let it be at that.
Go look at any first round pick since 2011 and it says “Player signed a 4 year deal”
1. Why do you get to change the wording of the contractual agreement?
2. Why has every single article for over 200 draft choices all been wrong saying “Player signed a 4 year deal”

I mean you’re not only saying every article on every single first round pick is wrong but also the CBA wording is wrong too?

Just so you know. The CBA nor the NFL dictates what makes a contract legal. They follow what makes a contract legal.
you are reading Salary cap implications. Nothing about the legality of a contract.
1st 4 years go against the rookie pool. 5th year goes against the normal cap. it is still a 5 year contract.
Just like Kaeps contract with the niners that had several years of options. Just like the example of T-Rex.
THE CBA, the NFL cant change the legality of a contract.
Therefore you dont get to defy logic. Also the 5th year is a different pay structure
So if you make 25 bucks an hour for the 1st four years & the 5th year if you survive. You get a percentage. No one can report on what you will make the 5th year because it is unknown.
However. the Contract spans a full 5 years. therefore it is a 5 year contract.

Contract Notes
The Broncos and Von Miller agreed to a six year, $114.5 million contract on July 15, 2016. Per Mike Klis, Miller received $70 million in guarantees, $42 million of which is guaranteed upon signing. The full guarantee is made up of a $17.5 million signing bonus, $6 million roster bonus, and his Paragraph 5 salaries in 2016 and 2017. In March of 2017 Miller's $19 million salary in 2018 will become fully guaranteed. If Miller is on the roster in March of 2018, $9 million of his 2019 base salary will become fully guranteed. The final two years of the contract are option seasons. Denver has until the final day of the prior League year to pick up each option season. If the options are exercised Miller will have $6 million and $7 million of his 2020 and 2021 salaries become guaranteed.

On March 13, 2018, Miller converted $16.5 million of his $18.5 million base salary into a signing bonus. The move created $12.375 million in cap room for the Broncos in 2018. Millers salary cap charges from 2019-2021 will all increase by $4.125 million each.

Notice this isn't a 4 year contract with an option of two, nor listed as a 6 year contract with additional option years.

No it's a SIX YEAR contract where the team can decide to cut bait before the final two years.

@PhoenixEagles1 what's your take here? Did Miller sign a 4 or 6 year contract?

My Just Because bump yesterday, wasn't just because, but I'm guessing most figured on that.

I'm sure PE will say he never saw it. When he does how many here will believe him?
