Do you guys think Clowe is being shopped around? IMO he has good value and if the Sharks don't think he'll be re-signing with the team once his contract is up (entering final year), or if they don't want to re-sign him, it might be better to move him now assuming the return is good. If he puts in another 50 point season while displaying the same ornery attitude, he may command $5+ as a UFA.

If Clowe is a $5mil per year player, then the NHL has hit rock bottom and is bout to be royally fucked

Comparable contracts are Tuomo Ruutu ($4.75) and Erik Cole ($4.5). Perhaps the new CBA will dial things back a bit. Hopefully.

I care. I'm just not as anxious as I was 2 weeks ago for Doan to make up his mind. Landing Doan is the difference between a so-so offseason and a very good offseason.

- UFA energy grinder in Burish
- UFA 4th dman in Stuart
- Extend Vlasic to a good deal
- Two upgrades in coaching positions
- Didn't acquire Nash in exchange for Pavelski
- (acquire Doan)?

If you can add pawn Handzus off to another team to that list, id say it was a pretty damn good offseason compared to what we are used to and 100x better then last off season.
