And Gambo said Doan has 5 offers. LA, SJ, and Vancouver confirmed.

He is gonna announce that Vlasic, Niemi, and Clowe were traded for Nash and Doan agreed to terms on a contract with us. Zeus and Petrecki traded for a 7th round pick. Semin signed to a 1 year prove it deal.

Funny you mention this. I was just listening to Dreger on the radio say the reason Semin hasn't signed yet is because no team has been willing to offer more than two years and most only offering a one year deal. Dreger believes he's looking for a 4 year deal but may end up caving to the one year term if he wants to stay in the NHL.

Kind of the worst kept secret this off season lol:drink:

Yeah, and honestly, I'm not sure what's taking him so long to accept the 1-year deal... if he's confident that he'll produce (and therefore get a longer term deal after a year) like he should be, just take it, it's win/win (mo' $$$).

I mean, assuming he still doesn't want to "cave in" and take the $10M/yr KHL contract that I think I read he was offered, etc.

Word is the 10m wasn't 10m. Even Russia is unwilling to overpay.

The amount reported for the KHL contract was bogus.

He was probably hoping GM's would turn to him after Parise signed. I don't think he or his agent expected Doan or trade options like Nash and Ryan to take priority.

Wow!

That's an over 35 deal correct? Even if he retires the cap hit stays on the books. Yikes that is a terrible idea. If that is what it takes to get Doan I want no part of it.

Perhaps the Flyers might

I'm not a fan of this, reminds me of Peyton Manning when Denver offered an insane contract. I'm still in awe that Peyton refused to come to the 49ers, it was all about money. This better not be the case for Doan, this is gonna get ugly now I feel.

If the report is accurate (I think it's a type-o and should read $20m) my guess would be the Canes. They went after Parise and Nash and missed on both. They have the money to spend, even $7.5m, and a real need for a player like Doan.

Wouldn't it be funny if it was Winnipeg that gave Doan that offer!

McGinn tweeted an announcement coming soon. Sounds like he re-signed avoiding arbitration.
