Whitney and Jagr on the wings for DAL. They should bring back Arnott for a turn-back- the-clock line.

Burish at 4 years $1.8 per

OR

Pyatt at 2 years $1.6 per.

I don't see too much difference. After all, many posters here have been referring to Burish's 1.8 as "practically 2 mil." It must be practically 1.6 too, no? :p

That said I really don't know enough about either to say, but one is a slightly cheaper.

This actually would not surprise me.

Argh! I kinda wanted pyatt, especially for less than the craptastic burish.

oh well, another one bites the dust. I would say that stampleton and Doan are the only ones left that I would target. Maybe wolski if he'll come for 1.5M or less. The list of good targets is getting thin and the 3rd line still does not exist.

Dallas is also starting to respectable. They have a whole slew of big question marks regarding health and age, but if the cards fall right for them, they could be really good. Their top 7 is legit with jagr, benn, ryder, roy, whitney, eriksson, and morrow. Thier D isnt great, but they also still have 20M in cap space so they likely arent done.

How far are they from the cap floor because that's likely all they are going to spend?

What is it like 13.5 mill tied up in two 40 year olds? I have to agree with what your saying on this one

Not too far once they resign benn. Gotta admit though, they have a respectable team for no money. They will need some help on D though unless one of their rooks can step up.

9M this year. it's alot but then again, if they play well and stay healthy, then it's two pretty legit guys who combined for 130 points last year.

Yeah but Jagr was with Claude G, not Loui Erikson lol Huge difference there, Whitney id have a little more confidencei n his numbers because he was working with less in the Phoenix and in a restrictive system under Tippett

I would guess the Stars were looking for a top 6 replacement for Brendan Morrow. I love Morrow and how he plays, but his style of play has limited his effectiveness and his ability to stay healthy. He'd be much better suited nowadays to be an awesome 3rd liner at about 15 minutes. He's just not the same player he used to be.

The Stars will be dangerous on the PP, but there 5v5 and PK might take a hit. Whitney was a good signing. I hope Doaner hits the market. I'd give him a 2 year, $10M contract for sure.

Stapleton wouldn't be a bad pickup either for depth.

Detroit's offer to Suter is supposedly up to 13 years for $90M now. He'd be crazy to turn that down.
Even if they get him, Detroit has taken a step back. Losing Lidstrom and Stuart is huge.

I just don't see it. The longer they wait the more detrimental it is to the other ufa's. If Fehr wanted the best for his players he be pressuring Parise and Suter to sign the highest $ contract as fast as possible.

 how much longer will it take for Parise and Suter to decide? Its holding everything up! I want to see what kind of bone head move Dougie Boy has planned. Cuz you know its going to be a head scratcher! :burt:

Last I heard is that Suter may decide Friday, the thinking was Parise will decide Thursday.
I think Suter ends up in Detroit, Parise with the Pens or back to NJ.
