Missing 6 games is hardly retribution for his act......no?
There have been two other instances of someone swinging a helmet at someone else's head (Antonio Smith of the Texans and Nevin Lawsone of the Raiders), they were each suspended one game.

IDK if 6 games is a enough or not, but that was the call.

I assumed if he stayed out of the limelight he would be reinstated in time for next season....they're not getting paid now so financially it doesn't matter much if he got reinstated now or a week before OTAs.

Maybe if it happens again to another player he gets 8-10 games but this is the longest suspension ever can't go much more harsh than that (other than for PED's of course)

Man, I thought this was about Jason Garrett returning to Dallas
When I heard Garret was coming back on the radio my first thought was "please, anyone but Leif"

Ehhh, we're in a new era. With the league making all these overtures towards "player safety," i think this is just where they are these days.

How many games did Albert Haynesworth get for stomping on dude's noggin? 5?

I think 6 games is fair for the swing. But I think he should get another six for being a lying coward and not just owning it after the fact.

5 for trying to crush a man's skull
6 for trying to crack a man's skull

Seems fair.

Wow. Did not see that coming.

The NFL is enabling players to go bat shit crazy without fear of retribution.

there was retribution.

He did miss 6 games lol

I don't care one way or another. But precedent is set. If you use a helmet, a football, a marking chain, a Gatorade cooler any "weapon" it's 6 games max.

Fighting peaks at 6 as well.

don't like how quickly it was done in the off season regardless of my affiliation. Seems the "undetermined" suspension was quite hollow.

And thy was Rediculous too.

How can you lie about swinging a helmet? We all saw him do it lol.

The fact he said he called him a racial slur...none of us really know, I think he lied but no real proof

How much time did DonkeyKong Suh get for his stomping antics?

I don't remember and don't care to look it up.

I got ya boo:

https://www.freep.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2014/12/29/ndamukong-suh-fine-history/21025507/

Here's a list of all eight fines, and now two suspensions, Suh has incurred in his career:

2010

Week 4, preseason vs. Cleveland Browns: Fined $7,500 for a facemask on Jake Delhomme

Week 9, regular season vs. New York Jets: Fined $5,000 for using an opponent as leverage on a field goal

Week 13, regular season vs. Chicago Bears: Fined $15,000 for unnecessary roughness on Jay Cutler

2011

Week 2, preseason vs. Cincinnati Bengals: Fined $20,000 for roughing the passer against Andy Dalton

Week 12, regular season vs. Green Bay Packers: Suspended two games (and lost $165,294 in game checks) for stomping on the arm of Evan Dietrich-Smith

2012

Week 12, regular season vs. Houston Texans: Fined $30,000 for kicking Matt Schaub in the groin

2013

Week 1, regular season vs. Minnesota Vikings: Fined $100,000 for low block on John Sullivan

Week 6, regular season vs. Cleveland Browns: Fined $31,500 for helmet to Brandon Weeden's chest

Week 12, regular season vs. Tampa Bay: Fined $7,875 for throat slash

2014

Week 17, regular season vs. Green Bay Packers: Suspended one game (and lost $22,000 in playoff wages) for intentionally stepping on Aaron Rodgers' leg

Total: $216,875 fines plus $187,294 lost wages due to suspension equals $404,169 total.

SO, for those of you keeping score at home:

Stomp to the head = 5 games
stomp on an arm = 2 games
stomp on Aaron Rodger's leg = 1 game
kick Matt Schaub in the nads = zero games
