No Gilmore, no *gimped* Hightower... no problem.

No Gostkowski, no problem. (just theorizing) - he's starting to get on my last nerve.

Besides giving up that long run, the defense was also noticeable for its lack of a serious pass rush. Rivers is a fairly immobile QB, so I expected Flowers and Wise to be in his grill all day. I think BB will at least be kicking the tires on several trade possibilities before 4:00 PM Tuesday. Once again for the offense, the subject of poor red zone conversions is a major topic. Also, Gostkowski is still showing signs of kicking problems. I expect BB to at least evaluate alternative kickers just in case. Good teams can win ugly but doing it into the playoffs is playing with fire.

Agreed. But if he walked out on his team that won't bode well for him
The reports were they sent him home not that he walked out, could be as simple as still showing concussion symptoms and the doctor telling him to go home and rest.

Cutting him is not an option, the cap hit would be savage.

Ohh I was not suggesting he would be cut simply that it's worthy of keeping an eye. I can't remember any team sending a guy home from a concussion two weeks after it happened

That long run would not have been a TD if Butler had gone for the tackle instead of the punch out.
Just my 2 cents. A tackle at the 7 yard line would have given the defense a better chance.

I think that Belichick was testing Gilmore yesterday to see how he reacted and whether or not he is a "Me" or a "Team" guy. That question was pretty much answered. The Patriots are paying him his guarantee this year and next and they're on the hook for $8M next year. It may be worth signing MB and just eating SG's contract or keep him here and make him play ST. If he refuses his contract is null and void.

I am aware of that but when you quoted my post it seemed you were suggesting I made that proposal.

No biggie either way,.

Gillmore didn't walk out. It's policy that guys who are inactive go home. Gillmore might have thought he was playing and got upset when he found out BB wanted to sit again. It's a long season and contract for him. IMO, he is coming back at the right time, because I think this defense (esp the secondary) has gone as long as they can without Gillmore and Rowe (who might never be back). Badman was not very good yesterday.

That long run was on Marsh. Once again he thinks he is is Sea and didn't do his job to contain the edge. He came way inside, and then got blown up on the block. The lack of pass rush was pathetic yesterday, and when they decided to blitz, Rivers shit his paints. Harris was very good yesterday.
