Chargers come to Foxboro after kicking the shit out of the Broncos. These guys are high as a kite. Amazing that they scored 21 points against the Broncos and Rivers only had 183 yards passing and the running game had less than 100 yards.

After this one the Patriots get a week off and then they have 5 out of the next 6 on the road starting in Denver, then Mexico City (Raiders)before returning to Foxboro for some home cooking against the Dolphins.
Then three more on the road against the Bills, Dolphins and Steelers and the last two at home against the Bills and Jets. Can they run the table??

That MC game seemed a lot more of a contest during the off season.

I can see losses to the Raiders, Steelers and Donks if Donks get there stuff together. Can they run the table? Sure they can but I don't think they do.

Do we get Mitchell back after week 8?

Damn. I forgot about Mitchell. This kid is great when he is on the field.

I heard MM is done for the yr. He's able to return to practice this week, so well see. I know Shea Mc was back last week.

Can we runt the table...sure. We are getting back Gillmore, ROwe, Shea and found a gem in Bademosi who just had two great weeks in a row. Branch seems to be back also, and if Harris can play like he did yesterday, then that helps. Marsh is getting more comfortable and the communication seems to be better in the secondary.

This team will be fine on the road, 5 star hotels and being pampered away from home.....yeah, they'll be OK...

Chargers have a very good defense, and enough of an offense to scare the bejeesus out of anyone - this is a dangerous team. Plus they're used to playing in hostile environments, even at "home"

They could just as easily be 6-1 at this point, given a break or three.

Belichick said that Bademosi adds a tremendous amount of adrenalin to the entire defense on the field and on the sideline. McCourty says that he energizes the secondary and everyone feeds off it.

What does that say?? Bademosi will be on the field if he keeps being the energy generator. I was smiling ear to ear listening to DM and watching him smile when he was talking about Bademosi. It appears that he's infectious and well liked. That and he has a set of coconuts hanging between his legs.

The fact he's on the field means he's doing most of that "energizing" during practice... Just another example of BB rewarding hard work and in turn, that hard work actually rewards the team. This is exactly how Brady became a starting QB.

That's a tough stretch. I don't see them running the table

Bills or Dolphins will provide a loss. Plus, the Steelers are playing well and Pats will find a way to make the Broncos look like world beaters. I think even 12-4 is optimistic.

Real weird week at work - I had many people coming up to me saying they're rooting for my team this week. Quite a bit of hatred for the Chargers around these parts. By my count, a solid 75-80% of former Charger fans here now absolutely loathe them, to the point of rooting for the Raiders, Broncos, Chiefs and even the reviled Patriots to wallop their former team.

When asked about the trade deadline, BB said today in an interview with 247 sports he replied "We're open for business".

Any guesses where he might be looking? Duane Brown?

He's looking to get rid of Dwayne Allen and get a TE who can do something. Allen has blown several blocks leading to Brady sacks. He's dropped every pas thrown at him. Mike Reiss and Mike Giardi have both said that if BB can't deal him, he'll cut him. Allen had/has a TV show in Indianapolis and was a very popular before he was traded. The rumor is that the Pats will trade him back for a bag of peanuts and any TE that they want to get rid of.

Rumors are that a couple of unnamed teams have inquired about any one of the four running backs. Supposedly he Patriots have been offered 2nd round picks.

One other little note.....Malcolm Mitchell is eligible to come off the IR November 2. He's been working out and wants to play against the Raiders in Mexico City. There's an unwritten rule that players coming off the IR mid or late season, are supposed to "practice" for 2 weeks before actually playing in a game.

The chargers have played some good teams and other than the 24 to 10 loss to KC their other losses have all been really close games. This one looks to be a really big challenge.

Pats 23 Chargers 17 if Stephan Gilmore doesn't play
Chargers 24 Pats 23 if Gilmore does play

I didn't read it the same way. I read it as "We are always open for business - Give us a value proposition and we'll consider it."

I took it the same way you did. But that was his actual quote.
I also think he's going to make a move before the trade deadline. The window is closing and he knows that. If the right deal is there I think he jumps on it. NE could be a defensive playmaker away from being really good:noidea:

Only problem with NFL trades at the deadline is that the 'other' team senses desperation when 'you're' the one doing the inquiring.

That and I just can't imagine any team would be willing to take on Gilmore's contract.........other than Cleveland.

Forget TE, we might need to go get an actual LB if HT is out for the season. BB should have brought back Marty B, I am sure they both are regretting not getting a deal done.

If someone if offering a 2nd rd pick for any RB on this team, it's for White...and I don't see him going anywhere.

Maybe we see Akem Ayers back in NE at some point....

Damn I am tired of HT and Gronk on the injured report.
