If Wentz is so good why did the Eagles dump him for Hurts? If he's so good why didn't the Colts make the playoffs?

I'm not saying Wentz is so good. I have him ranked 15 which isn't anything to write home about. He's just better than Mayfield and Jimmy G which isn't a high bar to pass.


Also Eagles wanted to keep Wentz but he didn't want to stay here and demanded a trade.

He's not better than Jimmy G. Their career stats are proof of that. And I'll ask you again, not that you'll answer. If Wentz is better than Mayfield why hasn't CW won a playoff game yet?

And you're setting the bar pretty damn low for Wentz if all you can say is he's better than Mayfield.

Jimmy G 2021: 20 TD, 12 INT, 3,810 yards


Because Wentz has had bad injury luck. 2017 was having the best season of his career on the best team in the league and tears his ACL late in the season. Following season goes down with a broken back late in the year and thus doesn't get to play in the playoffs again. 2019 gets speared in the back of the helmet by Clowney early in the first quarter of the only playoff game he has been able to play in and it took him out of the playoff game.


And yeah it is setting the bar low saying he is better than Mayfield and Jimmy G. Nowhere am I trying to argue that Wentz is a really good QB or top tier QB. He's just better than Mayfield and Jimmy G who both are not good.

Now keep in mind that I'm one of the Browns fans who isn't a Mayfield fan. But if he's a trash QB what does that make Wentz? No playoff wins.

And speaking of Wentz it's funny you have him ranked higher than Jimmy G. Here's a quick comparison of the two.

Jimmy G: 33-14 & 4-1 in the playoffs

Wentz- 44-40-1 & 0-1 in the playoffs

Very true and was one of the major reasons they lost. But to be fair, no Colts QB has won in Jacksonville since Luck in 2014, lol.

I do agree with RTK on the point that JimmyG isn't very good despite being a "winner". Beyond that though, I don't think Wentz is even top 20 at this point. Both of these guys have talent and from time to time will look great but I wouldn't want either starting for my team if I'm a current GM in the league. Too many brain farts and wtf moments for my liking.

At the end of the day - none of them have shown the consistency that you need to rely on your QB to get the job done when the game is on the line.

As it stands, I would trust Mayfield, Wentz, JimmyG in that order to get it done. However, it doesn't matter because none of them are very good - the only reason I put Mayfield at the top is that this past year was 2 major injuries he played through (Dumb, should have just sat out and healed) and prior to that, I think nearly every year the offense has changed - he's had almost no consistency from a coaching standpoint.
