Here is upsetting news to me (and probably to everyone else):

Report: Texans did speak to Eagles about DeAndre Hopkins trade

What in the world is Howie thinking?? If this is true, and I believe it is, Lurie better replace Howie as far as the personnel chief goes!

I know he is a great talent but I am concerned why he was let go for so little. Money plus risk was probably not worth it for us. I imagine we are not the only team to pass on him.

Yeah...this isn’t super bad to me. Could be wrong and the guy could continue to shine. But I felt last season like he might be on the edge of the cliff.

Howie has lost the support of most fans over the past 2 years. A 1 year wonder I expect.

I think the Eagles would rather just grab their receiver in Rd 1 and have him under Contract for the next 5 years at a reasonable price (since they are already pretty cap strapped for 2021). We still have to fill quite a few spots aside from receiver and it's not like we have a ton left in free agency money to get it done with.

:agree:

It's kind of like Buffalo giving away the farm for Diggs. This draft is to damn deep in wide outs and they could of use just one of picks that they gave to Minny and got just as good as of a player...

I am all for the 2nd wave of free agency. This is where we get some solid players. As always I will wait until the after the draft before I try to evaluate the roster.

Just me. I wanted Hopkins. He's one of the best, and would have been great to work with Carson.
I now have lost any confidence with Howie. Let's see what he does from this point on.

Not sure if mentioned before, but with the new CBA, Alshon can be cut for a roughly $15M cap hit instead of the $26M hit it would have been under the old CBA.

Yep, no savings from it in 2020, but then again it's not a bigger cap hit either. In 2021 we'll see the savings.

I'd still package a 4th or a 5th with him and trade him to anyone that wants the pick and has the cap room.

Has Howie misinterpreted the market? My gut says he missed on some players because of his inadequate preparation. There is also the factor of allowing Schwartz TOO much say in personnel.

I love Hopkins and I think Howie may have dropped the ball with him, but when you consider we would have had to give up not only draft compensation, and he's looking for a new deal most likely in the range for what Amari Cooper got, if they weren't willing to pay Cooper, then Hopkins was out of the equation too.

The new season technically speaking hasn't even started yet! We still have the draft, there are still some options out there in FA to be had that can improve the team moving forward, let's all just relax a bit.

I still think Howie's got something big up his sleeve, and it's going to be on draft night. Either Lamb, Jeudy, Ruggs; or if he doesn't go #3 to the Lions, I can see Okudah dropping as low as #8 to the Cards, where Howie should be in play to make a bold move up the board.

Wow. I can't believe that the Saints have not locked down Vonn Bell? That is the safety we should offer. He's not even 25 yet.

Denver signed Chris Harris. Not the best but serviceable CB.
Hello Howie, are you there???
