Without Kovy, the Devils don't win that game. Thankfully, Lou and the training staff don't read this board.
Great win considering the fact that the refs tried to GIVE the game to Philly. It was disgusting! Aside from the OT penalty to Bryce, everything else was either the wrong call (over the glass on Kovy that was deflected off a flyer) or borderline at best. Refs tried to make the Devils bend over and drop their hockey pants! Yet the Devils STILL WON! A train has to get physical with pussy boy Brierre on that 3rd period goal. Don't just let him put the rebound in without even trying to stop him from getting that rebound.
Poni the hero. Funny because I was thinking about him during the game. Not a big time scorer but a guy who can score. He woke up in the OT. FINALLY! One game at a time fellow Devils fans!
And Crimson King is a cool cat!

I was a big time Fayne hater, but he has improved tremendously the past 2 months or so. It was all mental with him because he has the skill set, and I think he's finally starting to calm down.

Speak of young guys and calm, I thought Swedish Hammer played great. Couple of weird miscues here and there but he was standing people up all night and carrying the puck up ice with ease. Especially, I believe in OT we got caught I don't remember if it was a line change or PK but it was 4 on 2 and he stood the guy up, pinned him against the wall and bought us enough time to get back in position.

Also, Zajac is the man.

Getting Zidlicky is looming large for the Devils. Wonder if Lou knew all along that Tallinder wouldn't be back? Anyway, all these small deals for Bernier, Sykora, Poni, and the big one for Zidlicky have been so important.

IMO, we have had two different seasons. Pre Bernier/Poni deals where we were a bubble team really struggling for a spot, and post Bernier/Poni deals that made us a legit contender. Hope they keep it up.
