Raburn Cycle Share on twitter Share on facebook Share on more

17 up, 3 down
(n) A feat in baseball rarely achieved in which a batter strikes out, flies out, grounds out and is credited with an error in the field in the same game. Named after Detroit Tigers utility player Ryan Raburn, who since entering the league has achieved the feat at least 37 times costing his team multiple games and possible postseason berths.

This should be common knowledge for every kid age 5 and up.

What a shitty lineup! But it's the last game of a series, against the Indians. Looking forward to JV not throwing meatballs in 0-2 counts today. :hope:

If JV can get thru the first 3 innings in under 60 pitches, he's got a chance for #13. Rod and Mario keep saying what a great record Verlander has in September, well, we'll see.

Anybody hear if the Tigers plan on activating Peralta when his suspension ends? My guess is that Ilitch wouldn't allow him to be re-signed and he won't be activated but his bat would come in handy for the playoffs. Having Iglesias at SS has transformed this team. Not only more fundamentally sound, they are almost bearable to watch.

well the fact the Tigers called up Perez the last day of august to be eligible for the post season does not bode well for Jhonny. Kind of takes his spot as a middle IF.

IMO Perralta has a lot going against him....

1. 50 games off will be tough to come back and be playoff ready.
2. He is regulated to bench and the fear is t could rock the boat as it may mean Perez is not on the playoff roster or Santiago someone that contributed year long.
3. Illitch may just want to cut ties and not have the Tigers associated with a cheat...so as not to further taint the season.

from everything I ever read Perralta was a good team mate that made a poor decision but Detroit has had a history of moving on from players that have had issues.

If this were strictly a baseball decision, points 1&2 are meaningless. You go with who gives you the best chance to win and Peralta has the respect of the team to the point where the he would be accepted back.

Point #3 is everything. Ilitch has shown he wants nothing to do with cheaters and his religious traits will probably push him toward washing his hands of Peralta. I would agree with Ilitch and wouldn't want the negative perception to taint the Tigers WS run. I am just surprised they haven't said anything yet.
