Dak was certainly not 10-12 this season. He had 23 TDs and 15 INTs. I guess the big question is how much of the Cowboys' issues were due to Dak versus the struggles on the offensive line and at wideout trying to find a consistent producer besides Lamb.
He was for me. There aren’t even 15 good QBs in the league.

I am not saying Lamb is a bad player. He clearly gets a ton of targets, and has a lot of stats. But I think they thought they could get rid of Cooper and the offense would not suffer big consequences, and it turned out their passing game is now a lot less dynamic.
1st off I have no regrets letting Cooper go. It was time. In a Salary cap era this will happen every year on any smart team. (Patriots did this to perfection for over a decade) If you wait to long to release them is the real mistake.
As for your argument. The basis is flawed.
Of course there will be growing pains when you get rid of a starter. Should be expected.
but Lamb superseded the #1 spot & in his 1st year done better than any year Cooper has ever done as the #1 in his career. This is in a year where as all of you are pointing out. the Cowboys offense has taken a step back! So Lamb is definitely not the problem.
Now if you angled your argument that our #2 WR spot was found lacking. You could go there. (I assume havent looked it up) Gallup coming off injury isnt in comparison to Lamb at #2. Meaning we need to go look for a true #2 WR. Our #1 WR passed with flying colors! Even compared to Cooper.

You should check out Mac Jones, he’s pretty good at that INT stuff.

you know whats crazy. This thread points out that 15 INTs is the QB leader.
Then look back at Winston throwing 30! :surprised:

when you hear 30 in a vacuum you think. Man thats a bad year. but when you start comparing it to Dak's worse year ever. Kinda think holy shit. That is real bad!

If you watched the Cowboys though, you can confirm at least 5 or 6 that are balls that hit a receiver in the hands. That doesn’t even consider all the unconfirmed times where Dak reads the defense and pattern progression right and the receiver isn’t where he’s supposed to be on a ball that’s supposed to be out and thrown before the receiver makes his break. All INTs aren’t created equally.

Holy fuck! Can’t believe I’m defending Dak here haha.

Holy shit! 42 INTs in an era of football with around 20-25 attempts per game. That’s crazy.

true, but Winston did it in modern history when all rules favor Receivers & offenses.
Blanda was back when receivers were being beaten up LOL & the Qb was only throwing it deep (Well winston was doing the same)
I mean this day & age. 30 INTs is impressive.

Crazy thing is Blanda went 12-3 that year and made the pro bowl... LOL...

Difference between 2 w/ attempts in consideration

Jameis Winston had a 4.8 INT% in 2019. Best was A. Rodgers at 0.7%

George Blanda had a 10 INT% in 1962. Across both leagues(AFL and NFL) the best was Bart Starr with 3.2%

That's all fair. I think Ducky is basically right and I was wrong, for the record. Lamb IS a #1 receiver. The real issue is that Dallas had no one to replace him as the steady, dependable #2. They thought Gallup or James Washington would emerge and they got hurt. So maybe if they stayed healthy, one would have emerged and things would have been fine.

I personally was hoping Gallup would elevate to a good #2. I guess we will find out next year, because Gallup isnt going anywhere next year. (contract wise)
