It was suggest that I needed to watch the all 22 film to get an idea of just how bad the play calling is, so I opened a trial version of Game Pass and I'll do just that. I am going to review every play called in the game on offense and critique it, this could take a while, which is why I am doing this at night. as there were somewhere around 65 offensive plays. I have already done the first 17 plays, but have figured I would stop wasting the paper I have been writing on and just do the first 17 at once and then move on one play at a time tonight. Hope everyone is interested, cause this may get a little dry. :)

Both Sweezy and Britt are beaten up the middle within 2 seconds of snap for 8 yard loss. Wilson had Graham open 3 yards down field crossing in front of him and pumped before the pressure arrived and tucked ball back to take sack. Had he thrown the ball, should have been an easy first down.

Result:

Wilson releases the ball within 2 seconds of the snap, to Rawls who is wide open in the right flat. No defender is within 10 yards of Rawls, who drops the pass. Chicago appears to be playing a man defense (Rawls unaccounted for) and no defender is ready to come and challenge Rawls once he gets the ball. Possible big gain down the sideline if Rawls catches the ball.

Sorry, shadows and angles of camera making it difficult to decide who is where and even who is on the field. I may have to just guess some.

I remember that play vividly. Russell has a tendency to sense pressure sometimes when it is not there. It's like he is so used to the pocket collapsing around him that his natural instincts immediately tell him to flee the pocket.

It's a catch 22 though because sometimes Russell's instincts are spot on and his athleticism allows him to run for a big first down or evade a defender and extend the play long enough to make a first down throw. And then there are instances like this one where he could have easily had a first down throw had he just been a bit more patient.

This is great though man. You are SportsHoopla's Hugh Millen. Much kudos to you for doing this.
